Monica had faced down killer drug addicted shifters and angry mobs. This man didn't know who he was messing with. She smiled pleasantly and closed the space between them so quickly it almost made it look like she was charging him.
She skirted him easily and headed for the door like she would come along but with out missing a step turned toward one pp and used the training she'd gotten with samuel on boxing nights to weave through the crowds loosing no time running into anyone in the bustling crowd.
The normally four minute leisurely stroll was done in 2 and a half of brisk purposeful walking. She was mounting the stairs to go up so now he had two choices throw a fit and look ridiculous or be patient and wait for her to retrieve her things.

Bhas watched the Detective charge she wasn’t braced for impact so he knew she wasn’t preparing to run into him. He knew body language better than most his life depended on it and the Marshals of District Two depended on his decisions even when they were working independently of the whole. He allowed and counted n them working their contacts and making more as part and parcel of their jobs. At the end of the day they were allowed the leeway due the one spoken rule he would never pull them unless he thought they could be of help or were needed. Which meant by and large they were able to operate with full weight of the Preternatural Marshals department without usually having to toe a line. Usually being the key word.
He didn’t bother to give chase. It wasn’t worth it. He was acting in a political capacity building the potential mythos of Marshal Davis in the same vein the SRS had gone out of their way to build the reputation of Marshal Blake. Sadly, he knew that the breaking had to happen just like building a fighter the best ones like the Broncos fought the lesson every step of the way. He had to admit he’d hoped she wouldn’t be so rebellious out of the gate with so many lives in the balance ah well damn it all. He walked out hopping in his car turning on the lights and sound as he got on the rarely used hands free to dial the switchboard.
One insuring all hands would be on site. The other to the RPIT Chief here in New York and the third to Detective Davis’s phone directly.

Watching her move he tried not to bust up as she gave homie the slip. The girl was something else he had t say. Shrugging h took the stuff and walked with grim back out and back to work. Dropping off the food and then saluting Davis who was finally leaving for real this time.
He looked to grim and sighed " so lunch was eventful huh?"
Not sure what else to say in the vein of 9f things. They had an extortion to stop.

She walked with him in silence because she could get a mad on about almost anything and wanted to really get one going against the Director Marshal. She didn’t care that up until recently he was a rockstar of the area. One of the youngest Directors in the entire Marshals department or any of the other accolades he’d gotten. She really just wanted to punch him in his smug face. She didn’t know why her abilities worked the way they did but she could survive a physical altercation without getting tremors. She could fight shoot and give chase without getting nonstop tremors and visions yet the moment the chase was over things would reset to her normal highly open setting.
She knew she would appreciate the silence that came with punching him repeatedly. So, she bit her lip and kept silent until they were back in the bullpen. She stood looking at the desk where she would sit. " Yeah it was. Way too eventful isn’t the first day in a new department supposed to be the easiest?" Shaking her head she looked at the other desks that were mostly empty as RPIT tended to work later shifts due to their case loads mostly dealing with the nightdwellers.
“Uhm don’t think me a weirdo but I can’t sit there until I clean it within an inch of its life.”

Leo smirked" you aint lie a day"
Soft sigh he watched her then he couldn't help but laugh" I thought you would never ask"
He stood and got cleaning supplies bleach spray disinfectant wipes. Gloves letting her pick what she wanted. He on short order had swapped gloves taken off his jacket and was cleaning every surface.
It made him happy and calm as every trace was wiped away.

As Leo rushed off so did she. She had further to go but didn't mind looking like a mad women. She sprinted to her car retrieving her shakes as well as the cleaning supplies she used.
They were all-natural and anyone with sight, touch, or psychic abilities at all would be dampened by them. As they were made for surfaces they were caustic to drink so she rubbered up and got to work.
When Leo began she thought of hiding what she was using but instead swallowing she slid her bucket towards him. If he used it fine if not but she could say she tried.
As she cleaned she did manage to think of the shop owner.
"The broadstrokes are easy and I can have a judge expedite the jp so we can have a lawful surveillance but I suck with people and dont know the captain here so overtime is gonna be on you..." it was an ask but her phrasing made it seem other.
Thats right she really did suck at peopling.

He watched her some and when he shared he head tilted but nodded in thanks and used some. It was weird because just out of curiosity he took off a glove and touched the lamp hed just wiped down nothing." Wow thats pretty clutch"
Then as he continued she mentioned the paperwork" ok fair enough you do what you can and I will be the go between for us and the owner. The captain don't seem to bad a guy just a bit frazzled"
He shrugged and when everything was finally spotless he sighed with relief. It even felt better near his desk. He'd still meed to handle the files with gloves as you coyldnt wipe them down but it was better.

"Worth its weight in parking tickets and then some." She smiled at his approval. She sucked at masking her feelings or making them seem anything that they weren't but her actual smile was infectious. Looking at how long she'd managed to go without needing a dampening hit she actually was a little happy.
But in that time she'd had several tremors at least she thought they weren't major hits. Knowing shed get hit hard she stipped degloving and excused herself. Moving to the restroom she made sure she was alone and headed into the stall. Careful to use towels to open and lock the stall she sat considering. She could take a swig but she knew it was time to ramp things up.
She withdrew the syringe consideringly but wouldn't go that far just yet. She knew it was the strongest dose and was supposed to shut if not blind her third eye. She could pretend to be normal longer and without the side effects. Sighing she'd hold off as long as she could.
Taking a stiff belt she gave it a second to take effect then reached for the door. Nothing. That was good it'd mean she should be able to make it to dinner without any accidental tremors.
Making her way back to her desk she slipped the syringe back into her cooler of shakes. Anyone who saw it would think it was insulin. She was okay with that.
Texting the hanging judge she had him send over their surveillance warrants. Hed fax them soon. "Alright Leo was he word?"

He laughed them sheducked out and he was suspicious but would give her benefit of the doubt. While she was gone he cheked files from the recent pack massacre and realized he'd seen someone trying to take over from them.
He pulled out req forms for cameras and recording devices and a box of silver ammo. He looked at the name on the paper and looked up priors and got hits in other states as well as this one. Crap the guy was a peice of work but the girl he'd seen hed put in features.
She wasnt in the system as a criminal but mussing pwesons in Arizona had some one matching her description. The miss u ngs had been dropped later but it made him curious. " so the chick missing from the south west pops up here the guy..scummy and now we know that they are wolves"
He showed her what hed found by turning the screen for her.

"Thats not good them coming back so soon." She said ignoring the would be mossing yet active person. Her age was wrongbfor a runaway or at leastba typical runaway. She may have been running but it wasnt away it was towards.
It made Wyetta feel old having such a jaded thought. But she was also filled with the restaurants owners fear. Which in turn made Wyetta want to reearrange the womans face.
She bit down on her anger as she finished reading Henrys screen. Pausing she picked up the file on her desk from her share of Davis old files. It was an absent thing to do. Yet her hand was drawn all the same. She opened th file and looked at the second name mentioned.
It was the same surname of the womans partner. She skimmed as she thought. Chuckling at the coincidence. Saying aloud "No such thing," in reply to the thought of coincidence. Walking it over she held it just above Henrys now clean desk so he could see.
Former gang OG that started the Silver Claws. His last name and the fact he was recently employed as 'Overnight Security Specialist' for an import trade and shipping firm. The file was a missing presumed dead report made by the mans fiancé it was dated less than a month ago and hadnt been closed by Davis.
"What dya make of this, gotta be connected yeah?"

Leo nodded his agreement " nature abhors a vacuum "
In regards to the rise of the group then he looked over tge fole whistling " hes got a rap sheet thicker than most bibles..yeah no coincidence but at oeast ee gotva good place to start from and a fire we can light under the judge " He hated bullies and knew that they only stopped when they got the beat down or were confronted. Leo wanted to do both." So on a diffrent note how ling you been drinking that stuff?"
He had lowered his voice and lifted his eyes to hers not challenge but curious.

She nodded as he tossed out the chestnut that they usually lived by no coincidences and everything made sense. Everything added up in the end. Even if it just added up to a brass verdict for most.
" Yeah it does but this is a little soon even for the wolfies. "
She fought the urge to storm off as he asked after her decoction. She looked towards her desk then back to Henry. Most assumed she was on the sauce he didn’t say anything along those lines and he didn’t strike her as someone to beat around the bush.
" What do you know old man? Really what are you accusing me of? You’re asking a question you don’t want to know the answer to. Especially as I don’t lie. It will either make you pity me or think I am wasting myself and that is no way for a partnership to work. I do what I need to, to get through the days the long nights and every step in between. So do you want to know how long I have been doing what I do or do you want to know why? Say what you mean and be clear."
She hadn’t meant to but caught off guard she dropped all pretense. She was angry either he was calling her an addict or attempting to connect by extending pity and neither one her anger could stomach. It was as usual her sword her shied and the way she dealt with the world at large. She didn’t mean to but she was afraid that Henry being close to what she was doing the latter. She’d had to live with her family who once never got it. She’d had to work with partners who didn’t. She was at her rock bottom and now here he was trying to what make himself feel better by extending pity to her.

Brow raised as she went on the attack he let her get it out and then said simply " old man?"
Laughing hard he slapped his knee playing into the role of what she'd labeled him. Then as quick as he started he stopped his face sobered and he bored through to her soul with his gaze. Voice low so as to avoid nosey people" I am asking how long because I know why. It matters because that sort of magic is a bandaid and a small patch at best not meant for long term or did the person who made it for you at first nit tell you that? Cause if they didn't then they are a shitty magician"
There was only fact in his voice no accusation or pitty. He had tried to be normal for a time but the death he could have prevented while he dosed was a weight on him at times. He didn't want to tell her that but if it would help her get it.

Counting to one hundred and then more she met his gaze. He was intense and yet there was a warmth inherent. She choked back angry tears. It was worse because he knew or at least had an inkling. It made her uneasy, he had something on her really and truly.
"Yeah." She began in reply looking around insuring the space was just theirs. "It was supposed to be. But its worse without it. I take one to dampen one to stave off the effects when I need to use mojo. I take another to sleep and another to keep moving. Its all legal and costly. I am on the highest dose without going full bore and mainlining it. If it the mojo increases again I will probably go into a coma from the overload...So yeah its worse than you think..."
She wanted she didnt know what. If he walked into the captains office and outed her shit would hit the fan. She strangely enough wished he would. She knew she had always been a little self destructive...

He wasn't her daddy but he felt a small but of responsibility and concern for her. Listening he let out a low whistling." That explains alot, I use visualizations to help. its how i eat by picturing a timy force feild between my cells and the food. Sounds crazy but it works most of the time"
He didn't ask if shed ever tried that instead figuring that jad o v ome before magic right? Making no moves to rat her out" look maybe I can reach out to a body maybe he can streamline things or help the dosing.
