She was as calm as she could be. She was witness to a gang she knew was preternatural or at least led by preternaturals extorting a business that had started fro nothing but goodness. She hadn’t wanted to see anything but now she knew she would need to dive deeper and find out how to help them. Clearly they had the wherewithal to not be here when cops were. Something drove them out of their normal stomping grounds and as the cops had declared war on them this was about the craziest things he could think of. The insanity of it all and Henry holding her hands brought her back with a fire.
Wait she thought as she looked from his eyes down to her hands. She looked back to his eyes her head tilting as she started to shake her head no. She sighed and did her best to reel herself in but it was too late no sooner had she begun trying to form the words no than his life or at least his most recent life hit her. Talk about one two punch she got hit with a huge flurry. His place she could see the address his exchange with the desk Sergeant. His unpacking and puttering around. His watching the neighborhood wondering what it was like before gentrification hit. His restless sleep. She saw that and much more and tried to fight it back down but it was as if she were plugged into an electric current that wouldn’t let her muscles work.
She saw him at a desk looking at Mykael as he breezed through the precinct. She saw him speaking with a very bad man hiding behind a badge. It was too much she was falling down a rabbit hole. The rabbit hole of him. She tried to shut his life out but his abilities were so similar to hers that it was as if she as getting reverb on top of reverb causing one thing to bleed into the other. Davis phone rang or vibrated she couldn’t tell one of the problems with her abilities were in their full swing nothing was as it was. She tended to live the life she was viewing it shorted her emotions her hearing her stomach. While in the grip of tremors and visions she was all but useless. Yet it wasn’t just his life she was seeing she was seeing hers through his eyes and it made it so much worse. Her stomach rocked and reeled and no, no she wouldn’t biting her lips as her gorge rose she pushed against his hands she didn’t want him to see her sad sack of life no that couldn’t happen and she didn’t want to loose her breakfast though she supposed she would.

She watched and it was like a train wreck. She knew something was wrong and couldn't touch either of them to stop it. Sighing they both needed sheilding lessons or something. She went to text the chief as a text from Samuel came in.
Blinking she read and fired back quick for him to handle what he must that she was dealing with a bit of a forest fire at work and sent heart and kiss emoji. Then the chief and soft explitive at the situation. The auras were now near the same and swirling save the arcane specks in hers.

Leo realized his error to late butvshe shouldn't have been able to read him through the gloves. His eyes widening and chest heaving when she tried to break the grip he willingly let go.
Head swimming he'd seen rhings and learned things and short of saving her life would do his ideal best to never touch a bit if her bare skin ever again. If it wernt for the kids in the place he'd be cursing like a trucker home from sailing. He picked his hat up as it had fallen.
He tried to make sense of it and then shook his head. Looking to davis speaking very low" you might wanna have this place put under police protection they being shook down by wolves it looked like "

Well fuck and then some she thought almost letting the words drift to her lips but now that he had broken the contact she was able to see clearer. For them, the three Davis, Henry, and herself it was a major moment. To the family and their staff that ran the place it was a table dealing with some private news not quite publicly. She knew that Henry burned a little he was relatively nonplussed on the surface. Davis was clearly torn as to what to do but still able to work her phone as if she’d been born to it. She wasn’t sure what sort of text or IM’s she was sending and tried not to think on it too much. To her thinking, she was sure something along the lines that she was bat-shit crazy. She hated not being normal.
Sighing she shrugged trying to seem more put together than she was or probably ever would be. Her fingers itched for her flask. She fought the impulse raised a hand with holding her credit card between her fingers. The ritual she knew was for Davis to show them around and drop kernals of knowledge into their ears. She wasn’t sure how long they’d have her but she knew for all intents she was their TO though Henry clearly didn’t need one and the things she’d dealt with in Major Crimes wouldn’t have normally meant she didn’t need one either.
She wouldn’t apologize for being a freak if she did she would never do anything but. So she did the only thing she could the plastic of her card would carry the servers life with it a very short while but she’d glimpse it all the same at least she would be prepared this time. Though she pulled an end around. As the server came over she held up her other hand. “Hey I’ve got a few things to say can I speak with the owner or manager or even the cook for a second.” The server torn between saving her tip smiled weakly and scuttled off to get the owner who happened to be their cook as well. She recognized him from his ghostly image in the window when he looked out on the street. She fought a smile. The ghost tremors of the better part of the vision still with her. He looked like a thinner healthier version of his shipbuilding father with whom he’d fought most of his adult life. Only because his father loved him so much and wanted only the best for him.
As he came over wiping his hands on his towel he kept for just that purpose she looked to Davis and then Henry. She always took lead which was another of the many reasons she traded partners so much. But Henry she felt was the exception. She’d seen his life and felt something she had never experienced in a partner before. The wish to do right seeing justice done for justices sake. As such she would try to be better. The look was an ask. It was would they back her play or should she back off. They were both good cops Davis by reputation Henry by what she saw of his life. What she felt. She hated her abilities but had learned to trust them.

She let out a low breath just glad things were drifting to normal. She saw her go for her card" no no I was going to buy lunch "
It was a stupid comment after all that but her brain was fuzzy. Then the owner came over she registered Henry's words and nodded to him and grim" please sit with us the food was great as always but this is important"
Just before he sat his face fluctuating she caught the nervousness and fear in his aura. Then he did and she knew some parts of him was relieved to maybe be getting help or a hope of it. Her phone went off twice the cheif then sam.
Monica held up one finger answered the cheif then samuel the one to samuel was more detailed and meant to ease his worry cause she could tell easily that he was restraining himself from rushing to her side. That made her smile until she remembered the task at hand." My apologies the cheif was asking about his lunch and my family was checking on me, grim if you would please"
She would back the play as she hadn't seen what they had but believed them no question.

Still humming he was trying to focus on thinfs and only half listening as he felt like there was a bolt loose in his brain.
The stuff she was on was to strong for most but somehow not strong enough for her. Yeah he was getting the idea that he would need to find his Ole buddy x and see what he was up to.
Get him to help with this and promise help in trade or a favor to be paid.for now though the focus was the owner and his problems.

Bhas was running behind he always was. It was the nature of his job as Preternatural Marshal director for district two came with its need for timeliness. He was none of those things yet being goal focused and task oriented meant he was where he needed to be. He expected the same of his agents as such training or not the political orders meant to insure they had a star for the service was carried out to its fullest.
As such he had spent the morning dotting his I's and crossing his T's . There was an outbreak in New Jersey of a virulent strain of lycnathropy that was even infecting vampires. At this rate it would be an epidemic in twenty-two hours. He rushed to NY to obtain his newest marshal so they could move. It turned out she was not in the precinct and so he immediately violated several FCC laws triangulating her location and arriving.

Nodding as Davis chimed in she cleared her throat as she almost called him by the pet name his father used. “We understand that you can’t risk your family or your business but we’d like to help.” She began with the soft shoe. In the end the choice was his. She knew how gangs worked and how they struck terroristic going for soft targets that had things to lose. If they came on too strong they would fade away. After all its not as if even with the speed of changes to the law that they could make arrests based on visions. They still needed proof. To that end she had several ideas percolating but it was still his call.
" We’d like to insure those people never come back once we’re done. So what do you say do you want us to make them go away. Do you want to protect your family?"
He looked around then from face to face finally nodding asking what could be done. " Detective Davis I and Detective Henry will pose as patrons and sit here with you as long as it takes to catch them in the act. Once they come back we will follow them to their clubhouse or hangout or alley wherever their leaders are and then we will arrest all of them. Each and every last one."
Normally this speech would be followed with a touch some sign to reassure him and bolster his confidence. She couldn’t risk it. So it wasn’t as effective as it could be but it got the point across. “Could you tell us what they look like more specifically. If you have a name a way to contact them?”

She knew it would not be that simple but logistics could come later. She took his jand squeezed and nodded. It seemed to give him m9re courage and he went to his pocket and slid them a slip 9f paper after quickly and carefully writing the phone and name of his handler down.
She palmed it as a man came in and her senses went on alert his aura read authority wjich was strange on a cop heavy environment. He seemed to be looking for someone. Looking back to the three" we will do what we can..until then behave as if nothing has changed we want to make this above board but clear"
She didn't say what else she knew that it wasnt the same pack as the drug king pins because they had been killed.

Lee let the ladies handle this his eyes were on the guy that had come in and was now headed towards them. They needed to settle soon or they would have extra ears that might not be rriendly.
He closed up his to go box and made short work with the others. Giving grim a clear and meaningful look then looking at the man who was now a few steps from the table.

Bhas ran his hand through his hair smoothing the thick mane into some semblancw of respectability. Ot was a vanity on his part yes but everyone had their tells. Thing was most tried hiding them. He wore everything in the open it was his one concession. Always true even when lying.
Spotting Detective soon to be Marshal Davis he beelined to her not hiding his interest or aim. He meant to leave with her no matter what.
Smiling he extended his hand "Detective. Uh uhm Marshal Davis. I am the Director of District Two Bhaskar Yatri can you come with me?" Itbwas clear the politeness of his request came with the suett that there wass no way for her to officially say no.
Continuing to smile he looked to the person they were speaking with then the other officers. He knew Grim of Major Crimes but thought Davis was Chicago RPIT he knew the SRS were looking at acquiring him in the arms race of snatching up human preternaturals.
It was interesting they were all here. If not for Grims disciplinary issues and dr7nking it was considered with her close rate that she might be just such a person. Sadly she was no Davis. She was no hero of the department as well the peiple at large.
He wasn't sure if she was a human preternatural but he had his ideas. "Sorry to interrupt folks but it is an emergency." Inclining his head "Grim, Henry. Pleasure really "

Monica frowned delicately" well I'm glad to meet you but I needed to return my fellow officers to the station with the Chiefs lunch. I don't think I should just disappear on them while I understand your in a hurry"
Besides her guns wernt on her as she normally didn't wear them to lunch." I also don't have anything but my back up on mevand need my weapons so if you can return with us and let me getthem sure"
There it wasn't a no but shed not be hustled off either. They packed the food in bags and she paid as well as reassuring the owner quietly. Then they could all leave and walk back to one pp.

He smiled as she gave every reason in the book to forestall. He raised a brow.
"I am sure these very smart very competent officers can find their way and deliver your parcel. As well as you'll need to be outfitted en scene. Your back up is more than fine for the drive. Shall we?"
He smiled punctuating their need for speed and the unshakableness of his request. The clock was ticking and they were not going to waste any extra time on anything else.
She was as of this moment a Marshal technically and as such under his purview.

Not a fan of the new guy but henry thought to himself that this is what she sighed up for and he was out ranked so he didn't try to protect davis or bully the man." Its ok Davis we gotta take flight some time. we'll handle it ok you do what you gotta and I will make sure cheif gets lunch and your stuff is secured till you come back for it."
It was the best he could manage and he held out his hand to shake sheild firmly in place. When she slipped the paper to him he got that she'd understood and would trust him and grim to fallow up and protect this restaurant as a passing of the torch almost.
Letting her past him he nodded to the collector and then grim" alright grim guess we on the clock when we get back and already on our own"

Wyetta looked from Davis back to the cocksucker that was pulling her not caring what was in the works. He was oh so full of himself. It wasn’t that he was being a dick it was that he was being so nice about it. She hated passive aggressive people they tended to be small minded petty and altogether as nice as using a cactus for a shower sponge while being bathed in lemon juice. Her instinct was to read him the riot act but he had called her by name and Henry. He even introduced himself so they would know technically he outranked them all.
She wanted nothing mor ei that moment than to take him down a peg but stopped herself from reaching out to touch him. Somethings just weren’t worth it. She knew that she had a horrible poker face when it came to her emotions so she busied herself rubbing her hands over her arms. Counting to ten in her head a couple hundred times as she it her lip to not say go fuck yourself or worse. Sadly it didn’t quite work she intoned as he spoke, “Asshat.”
Saying louder to cover her slip she said “I forgot to ask that. Good looking you guys. And yeah… Good luck Davis.” Looking to the new guy she fake smiled which meant everything she’d choked back. She didn’t wish death on him just and unfortunate private life full of heartbreak and worry.
