He had been concentrating arduously on not scrubbing his desk free of germs and traces. Cops were not known for cleaning and he was carefully handling the files. It pulled him abruptly free when she spoke. Leo realized that if they were going to get anywhere that he should take the time to help if he could.
He contemplated that and nodded" not as bad as you do I suppose but when I was younger eating meat was a bad trip for me until I learned how to mentally block my touch reception in spesific areas. Id get it all otherwise from earliest memories to slaughter to everyone who touched it in between and their life story in layers of depth with each further bite. I was a jabbering mess for the first few weeks."
His granny Hester had helped him because she had her own gifts. His mother had never been able to get away with anything cause she saw it all. He eyed her" you are different but the same as me so I can't know just how bad you got it but maybe we can work at it hm?"
Looking over the list of lunch places he saw a vegetarian indian restaurant and figured they might have some options for her that he wouldn't mind. Leo enjoyed a good curry and rice.

She eyed her boss gently" sorry but I think I am needed more elsewhere but you know if you need my help omce I am on active you got it. It is why I am trying to make sure there is cohesiveness out there"
She motioned behind"sure I can come back in after lunch not sue where they will choose yet but csn bring you back something once I know."
She knew he sometimes forgot to eat with running the squad so if she knew hed miss lunch she'd bring back extra or try toget someone to. It would be strange not directly answering to him any more but he'd been good to her mostly.
Monica left the office and had been on the way back out when she heard them talking and didnt want to interrupt.

She nodded as he spoke careful to not touch him even accidentally. She’d learned the hard way that those with gifts should not touch even accidentally without some major prep. She’d accidentally tackled a psychic who’d tried o gaslight all of her ex-girlfriend’s current lovers. She’d been using her abilities and would have gotten away with it accept she’d targeted one girlfriend who was a councilman’s daughter. It’d drawn in Major Crimes as the girl had tried to commit suicide.
She shuddered to think of her last tremor she’d gotten from a badly prepped street taco. It was one of the main reasons she’d lost Lacey as a partner. At least she landed well. She was in WITSEC last Wyetta heard and leading her own subdivision.
" I am willing to try anything. Once." She said as her stomach rumbled loudly enough to be heard by a deaf man in a wind tunnel. Her supplements and shakes were in a cooler in the trunk of her car. She would however never let anyone near her things. Even the remaining bit in her flask cost too much for her to ever toss away without some major reason. Meaning life and death or at least nearly a month of her salary.
Not thinking about how ad it’d gotten for her trying to afford her self-medications along with some of the things she’d done to purchase them.
" Once Davis shows us around and leaves us to these…" She pointed to the cases that were left open to be solved. Her eye being drawn to one in particular but she was low on her decoction and wouldn’t dare go near anything that gave her tremors from just looking at it .
She was a good cop but her police work the interactions day to day was what gave her the biggest troubles. She had no choice she needed to find a way to survive the day. She would be around the crème de la crème of weirdness around her everyday now.

He nodded and tried not to smile " ok then your on..looks like its time for lunch tho"
He stood having noticed davis and adjusted his hat back on to uis head. Leo had discarded the visitors tag and put on his weapons. He was ready to go.
Informing the marshal where he'd picked he watched her take it in stride and comment that the dood was fairly delicious. As they left the guy at the front desk looked away and frowned. Leo chuckled thinking" thats right fear me muthafker"

He nodded he knew it wouldn’t fly but in truth he had to ask again. Davis had done more in her short time in the unit to legitimize it than almost any other officer in the units history. He was sure that even as publicized the Marshal’s successes were that she would rise to the top. Maybe not as high as Forester or Blake but he was sure she would make a name for herself.
" I’ll keep a line open for you in case you change your mind. But I get it an I still had to ask again."
Mmhmming as his phone lit up with a few texts he smiled at Davis as she mentioned takeout. "Thanks for the thought. Feel out Grim we’ll talk when you get back."
He would try not to lay on the usual talk with the two new officers. Both were assets in their own way. He hoped here they would be able to bring some of the distinction that Davis had. Matthew was a loss he’d not expected but as he was only on official leave having cited personal mental issues Weiler didn’t see him returning. He didn’t even keep out a hope of such. Most couldn’t hack it in RPIT more cases were left unsolved than any other department. Even Davis had a stack of cold cases. It was why he was looking over her case logs. She hadn’t caught the disappearances of the Silver Claw leadership not directly but it was something there and he knew it. Sadly, all of the intel said otherwise.
As she left he opened back up his laptop and began going over the case notes.

Monica realized something was up with her cheif but didn't have time to dwell. She approached the newbies and agreed to their lunch pick. It surprised her but the food was good there faorlu healthy.
As they waleked out she noticed the uni at the desk Tarvers aura flared with nervous and fearful swirls. She watched his eyeline and noticed Leo was the cause of it. Interesting, Tarver had a penchant for assholeish behavior she had a feeling he'd met his match.
In a three minute walk they were at lunch she watched them settle them selves. Determined not to poke sheilds, monica had to fight her urge to text samuel.

Wyetta watched the small interaction with the desk sergeant she knew him from her few times in the building she was warned off of him when she first graduated. She knew several officers that had portions of their personal lives tanked by that prick. It was always explained away as honest mistakes but she knew better. She was never friend or partners with any of his victims so she kept her mouth shut and stayed out of it. But she knew about his time in vampire clubs and his addiction to being drained through his toes. People were disgusting she thought and shoved her hands deeper into her pockets. She needed a hit and soon the two light ones she’d done this morning were wearing off.
As she was in the drag stream of Davis cologne it helped some. Davis had fairly decent life from what she could tell. And the perfume was clearly animal testing free. Of course she kept getting brief faint tremors but she guessed that was due Davis special status. People with abilities she could feel easier it was as if they were brighter flames to what she had. She of course could do without the bears fighting zombie werewolves and chalked that up to an overactive imagination or Davis special ability. As such she clamped down harder and tried to think of anything else. Problem being she was in the largest city in the world with people who notice if she slid a flask form her pocket and was fighting with all her might the urge to say fuck it and down a swig big enough to shut her down. Large belts would have her lightheaded and displaying all the symptoms of being drunk as shit.
Telling herself she could hold on until they got to the restaurant she bit he lip. Concentrating on every step instead of the scents hitting her and the way the breeze caressed with latent particles. She was so busy that she nearly bowed over a tourist with a map of New York on their phone. “Hey watch where you’re going shithead!” she yelled as they made a huge apology and looked as if she was the very definition of a drunken idiot. Looking to her fellow officers she shrugged careful to keep her hands stuffed tightly in her pockets. She made fists then relaxed flexing as the tremors grew in intentsity.
Once they arrived she excused herself to the bathroom taking one large belt toeing the line. Refreshed she came back to the table on a low flying cloud. “Alright sorry about that. I have the weakest bladder in the world.” A smile on her face as she was able to be close to them without getting any tremors. No visions no extra just three people having a bite.
“Okay Davis Henry you guys order for me it was your pick,” She said motioning to Henry, “and you’ve been here before.” This said motioning to Davis. “After food or during I think we should start with where everybody is from… It will break the ice better than my pisspoor display earlier.”

Leo had caught the tourist interaction and hiked a brow but not said anything. Lil Lady was like a time bomb he'd have to defuse soon. As soon as she ducked away to the bathroom he cleared his throat "look I ain't in charge of anything and can't tell yall how it should be but know that she gonna have a fight on her hands to get right"
Leaving it at that he checked the menu and figure out what sounded good to him. When they were rejoined he stood as a gentleman in grained. When a woman rejoined the table you stand his momma told him. Thinking on it" well depending on if you got stuff you just don't like the taste of or not I'd go with the eggplant curry with the rice skip the nan bread since that get handled alot. They got a mango yogurt drink probly blender made ask for a disposable cup so.."
He had thought it out well it made sense to him to minimize chance of touched things. He was going with that but he could handle the bread and extra spice.

Monica had not heard the interaction between the two behind her she was focused on getting through her last few days here her apartment would be paid even while she was away it was to nice a find to let slip away but the fridge would be cleaned and perishables not open along with non-perishable goods given to food banks.
She'd be setting up her cousin to come dust for her and had no pet currently. When he spoke she nodded softly " I honestly wasn't expecting her but this is her last chance so hopefully we can make it all work"
She watched him go to the menu and did the same listening to them both she realized then what they shared and felt stupid for not putting it together before. She knew what each of them had been classifieds at but it hadn't clicked past protocol till just then." The eggplant is really good actually, I normally do the chickpea tomato salad with peanut and a stuffed pita."
When the waiter arrived he recognized her and greeted warmly. She expertly ordered hers the cheifs to go box Henry spoke up for him and wynetta remembering to be spesific with hers. Monica caught the quick glance from the waiter and she nodded. He would make it so. Once they were alone again " I am new york born and bred traveled but never lived anywhere else though thats set to change breifly."

"Me too," Wyetta chimed in."Washington Heights, you?" She asked Davis. The sad fact was she'd never strayed far from the city due her condition though in her younger days she'd wanted to travel the world. It like many things in her life were lost to her.
She'd not even tried to go to Mymaels funeral because it was all the way in Chicago. She hated not being braver and taking a chance. She instead through herself into her work. She knew she was on her last legs by being tossed into RPIT but she would do her best all the same.
"What about you big guy where're you from?" She knew he wasn't feom the apple he had an accent and air about him. She was glad her decoction was working though it was becoming a real monkey on her back.

He smirked" southern boy born in mobile Alabama grandad and dad were law in a time that we only just got any sort of power"
He nodded" didn't stay there tho to small minded needed bigger city so Atlanta then Chicago now here"
There food arrived shortly and smelled good. The plastic take away cup sat in front of the both of them Davis had a regular glass. They had even given everyone take away containers. Not in a bud to hustle them out but to be understanding.

She ate what was offered a little too hungrily. The first few bites even with her rush to get them past her taste buds was actually really good. Too good she slowed down and a tremor hit. Occasionally it wasn’t all bad and this was one of them. She caught sites of some west coast neighborhood. Some large ship an older man arguing with her the person who made it. Then them hugging as the older man was brought into a Dasa shop. The exchange of moneys and a wedding small yet somehow huge. Dancing straight from one of the Bollywood musicals she secretly loved. A woman Isabel taking her name the name of the man she was. The man she’d felt tremors of. The prognosis of a year the growing of a lifes work. A return to a previous jog an Italian restaurant making enough to pay back loans. The loans repaid and taken out again as two more locations opened. The looking out on a day bright with hope as she turned the open sign going to the restroom insuring that even here the love was clear then washing of hands a prayer said and prep for the day begun.
It was a enough to bring a tear to her eye. She slid her sunglasses up taking her sleeve and wiping her eye. Her voice slightly horse somehow. “Uhh, its good. Really good maybe a little spicy for me. But really good.” Making sure there was no wetness on her face she closed the lid of the plastic container. She was always grateful with how resistant plastic was in holding things. That and how strong anger and dark emotions could hold but how long a true feeling a positive emotion could sit subtly in all one did. She wouldn’t profile herself with how often she tended to view the whole of the world far darker or even why she held onto trying to do some good.
Realizing she must look like a freak she forced a smile. Never her strong suit she wore her emotions too close to the surface. There was rarely anything genuine about her forced emotions. She tried all the same.
She battened down her hatches more all the same. Alabama he said she ran her fingers through her hair. “Your family from Alabama, I hope it’s not Dothan County. I have never been but isn’t there or hasn’t there been a long time running Justice project out that way?” She started further back doing her best to not think about the Chicago angle. Henry was old enough based on his looks she was sure he would know about D’arcangelo. Maybe he even attended his funeral god forbid he might even be a friend of Mykael. She felt a big dose of guilt coming on like a freight train headed her way but her cop brain wouldn’t stop her from worrying at it until it was solved.
Then the rest of the tremor hit the men from the Silver Claws and their new would be leader. Beautiful woman long hair and a native American vibe. Angry knocking things over. This very table. Words yelled deals reached something about being too close to the police to be noticed or some such. Resurrection despite the lions. She couldn’t get it all as she’d snatched her hand away it was such a painful exchange. She didn’t want to get it all. She knew she would have to then stopped looking from Davis to Henry. She wasn’t sure how much Davis knew but she took his pep talk as an honor and wouldn’t completely out him unless he wanted to be. She was also cursing herself she knew not to trust it and she had she’d accidentally touched the table cresting on good vibes allowing her to sucker punch herself. She looked around the restaurant searching for faces that showed worry or anything out of place. Fuck she screamed in her head why could she be normal.

She was about to answer the question after having heard from Leo when all heck broke loose at the table on a small scale. Normally she was ace under the gun but all she coukd do is try and sort what was wrong.
Instinct was to reach out and sooth but brain said that would be bad. Monica tried to watch the aura and see if it was medical but the colors were swirling like a hurricane. The clearest of which was fear and helplessness.
She took a breath and just made sure no one was starting to stare or want to call an ambulance thinking it was a serious problem.

He had eaten a few bites and itvwas good but grim caught his eye first the tears then he caught the moment she brushed the table and lit like a live wire. Cursing softly his gloved hands went for hers prying them from the table and cuping them in his leather clad ones.
He knew the leather was old but cared for he used them as a meditation every day. Imbued with calm and clear of influences. Strenght in his voice as he commanded just loud enough for her" look at me grim see me and only me. You are here with me so see me"
Repeated squeezing her hands until she came back into her eyes and calmed. He wasn't going to let go and no one else mattered right then.

He ended the call as Aeolas concluded the business form his end. He could be in New Orleans in Four hours from now. Looking at his watch he did the math quickly four hours to New Orleans. Two hours give or take negotiations and three hours from New Orleans to Chicago. Nine hours two flights and several calls. Then there was the set up. He smirked he knew by reputation who Aeolas was gunning for. He himself had all but taken the man out previously.
He sighed as he’d stayed his hand due to his friendship to Mouse. Yet on multiple occasions the man had stood in nearly direct opposition to Samuel. He was not one to let many stand in his way. He unfortunately had to involve Mouse as the Abstract while a great thing could be restricting considering he wouldn’t want to troubles that had befallen the Cibolla to be exacerbated due his business with Aeolas. They hadn’t talked of price but Samuel remembered Aeolas from the previous regime in New York. While his dealings had been predominantly with the Church of Eternal Life he had enough run-ins with the Kiss as a whole that he was familiar with their holdings.
In fact one of his subsidiaries still delivered to Aeolas’s New York locations. Normally Mouse would be the first call but in this he had several to make. Firstly his Detective.
Dialing her number, he thought better of it. They didn’t have standing plans for the evening but … He had planned on spending some time with her all the same. Texting he awaited her reply as he made other calls.
