He however did rest his hand on hers before standing along with the others partaking of the rich brew and roasting hos acceptance. He did not miss the slinking away of Asa, and Erick. It was not his place to overly worry after the two of them emotionally he strangely however did.
Being a leader was a heavy burden even in the best of times for a newer clan head as well as a new power of the city the learning curve was even higher. Sitting digging in he rested his leg against Monica's as he leaned more towards her whispering.
"Perhaps we should follow suit leaving the Kiss to have center stage and catch those two neither is one place to be alone even its alone together."

As she caught his words her mind caught on to what had happened and she smiled like he had said something naughty but nodded. She rather someone think they were sneaking off to have sex in their fancy clothes rather than bolster the other two but his words were wise and she had come to care for Erick as a brother of sorts. Slipping up first she stopped with her compatriots quick" have fun the car will take you home"
winking at them furthering the false thought and then met Samuel by the door slipping out. Luckily it was late and cabs scarce they caught up in no time. " we have a car if you rather that and could def use more drinks"
smiling at both men, as the seemed to almost jump at being caught or maybe that was just her perseption.

Eliachem again watched silent bu vigilant doing his best to not act on what he supposed. Three of his Duchy and four of the cities leaders sneaking off. In another age that would have presaged a coup. In this age of temporary celebrity, it meant a better party either more important or simply one more relevant. H was fine with the Kiss becoming the center of focus. It was the week of the Sap moon and he understood why atleast the lycanthropes were more emotional more in tuned with mainting the vicissitudes of their own humors. It seemed however that rumors were true and the lion king was abed with the darling of law enforcement. His source was in fact accurate it seemed. Luckily, those astute enough to catch it were otherwise disposed.
Secrets as always were only valuable when they were kept as secrets. He chuckled mentally at the dichotomy of the two both differing sides of the same coin. Moving about bolstering Caoimhin he filed the information away for later perusal. As he ran into Asa he smirked shaking his head and was about to agree when the others arrived. Part of him was irritated at not being able to be left alone, another part surprised they had come to support him. The last bit of him while not wanting to admit it was grateful to them for having his back as they had the ulfrics. This gave him hope that they would do as it seemed and band together for the city." well that sounds better than looking for a paying for a cab what do you say Asa?"
He took his hair out of the well-managed pony and shook it loose looking a bit more like the wild man and loosened his tie. He could use some music and drinks and to forget what just happened. He could go back to being serious tomorrow.
As the car pulled up they all piled in and he sank back into the seat. It was pretty plush and warm inside. He couldn't think of anything to say but then" so the food was preetty good right?"

Not trusting his voice or more specifically not trusting himself to not screw up he nodded. Slowly finding his way it was a difficult thing for him to trust but he was working on it. A little hoarsely he replied, "That sounds like way more fun than I deserve but I'm in." He wanted to kick himself as he knew he was right but had been trying to play nicely. He would have to remember this etch it into his head. Right was right and he needed to keep that in mind.

Waiting a beat and doing his best to not watch as she sauntered a way. The dress was definitely the rght choice. Smirking as he knew exactly how far those legs went. Standing he made his leave passing along the onsite lead to Abel and Severin. Bidding adieu to the lion he was grooming for Militis and nodding to Eliachem as matter of all due respect. Mouthing as he did ‘I will call you tomorrow night.’
Swinging by the Lupa he said low enough that she could hear and yet privately, " I’ll insure your mate makes it back to you."
Making it outside the first thing he did was kiss Monica’s cheek. Then speaking to the other two Dukes of the city, " That is a great idea. I know just the place as well. It’s a former speakeasy and still a well kept open secret. If you all don’t mind a little live music."

Anyone else might have drowned in the feel of the surrounding power. She took it in stride and waded through it expertly, peeking at Erick she laughed" what i got to eat of it was delicious tho I expected no less from Elichem. The drinks tho were something you all looked like it hit you some which.. if I remember right the only other time I've seen this was Nola?"
Glancing to Samuel for confirmation. Then looking to the Ulfric, studying him quietly for a moment without being overtly rude or challenging" so now that the pomp and ceremony are over what are you guys looking forward to seeing changing?"
She knew that they still had to deal with the witches as a city especially the law enforcement. Hoping to see better images of shifters overall even if they still did dirt where the public didn't see. That was pragmatic to her hurt nothing in the city that was visible and be left alone.

Eliachem smirked as the music slowly moved tempo to a lively waltz. Moving to the Ulfreya. He said, "As always it is a pleasure to see you Jezebel. Might I have this dance?"
Offering his hand he awaited her reply a slight smile on his lips as development wrinkled in his eyes.
He'd chosen this week die the pull of the moon. He wanted the lycanthropes to be at their most vibrant. Each a star contained and wrapped in flesh yet still pulsing with energy.
Yes it was a show a presentation but a palpable one the city leaders needed. He was unlike other Masters he didn't usually play at gamesmanship in any noticeable way. He however did play the game his way. Silently surely with a deft hand.

Jez sat back and watched as her wolf walked out the door heading who knew where. She knew but then didn't know what was going through his head. Unfortunately he needed space and in actuality they both did so she let him go reluctantly.
Doing her best to keep the sadness off her face she turned to look back at everyone else and caught the tail of Erick leaving as well and it was certainly understandable. Standing up she went to move away from the table when Samuel moved to her side saying that he'd make sure As a came back. She nodded her head and told him "thank you" before he walked off and she went to join the rest of the party.
She had been making only light conversation with one of the tigers when Eli walked up to her. Her eyes traveled to the vampire and she truly smiled at him as he asked to dance.
"Its always great to see you and you might have this dance." She was teasing him of course as she made it obvious she was debating saying no. Not that she would for more than one reason. Smirking she did finally slide her hand into his and off they went. He led and she followed thankful that she knew how to waltz so as to not embarrass either of them.
She actually laughed as the two of them twirled around the floor finally and truthfully enjoying herself.

Yeah, he was in a fighting mood but was reigning it in excessively well for him. "Long as it’s none of that screamo crap they play up in Greenwich." He said he didn’t force a smile as he climbed in. He meant it music was mostly the same to him either it was good, or it wasn’t and the screamo bands that had been inflected on him were never good. He hated them actually, but he was trying to not make broad generalizations. Trying however was not succeeding.
" And yeah the food was good actually really good and the drinks even better…Hopefully the place we’re going can hold a candle. As for change…" He said rubbing the make that would link him to Jez through this life and the next. Unseen he could feel it or more specifically his link to her and he did his best to ease the shields up. “I’m thinking those storefront churches of the C.O. E. L. they’re popping up in weird out of the way places. And I know Eli hates them but I guess he can’t be everywhere. Last thing we need are un mastered vamps running around the place making it harder for us as a whole.”

He listened and thought so many changes" I agree about the churches tho need a stop put to them but one I think would be beneficial is to send out members of the group on volunteer basis to any newly infected in the hospital to help them accept their fate and or keep them from falling into the hands of those who would put them in the camps"
He figured catch them new and there would be less chance to have what happened just now happen. there would be no one who didn't know what the rules were at least in new york unless it was an undocumented infection which was near impossible as the person would have to be near death first. which normally ended up in a hospital trip.
It also helped change public perception and weed out potential issues.

" Both great ideas." He said a contemplative look flashing across his face. He was thinking on the more pragmatic changes that could be made. The first being the management if not control of the heads of the criminal factions. Then branch back towards the legitimate businesses. It was well and truly an impossibly huge job ahead of them all and moreso without the numbers at their beck and call. While he could use the reputation of the Exauda for a bit of the heavy lifting it would take a concentrated effort to not over extend the company or its reputation.

Monica listened thoughtfully all of the planning sounded great to her especially Erick's as she had spent time with someone who escaped such a place. They were still working on getting him shut down and were so close that any day now he be strung up and she would beat him with a legal bat like a party pinata. They could physically hurt him like she wanted to but this would be good and maybe he would get tossed in with some of his " patients".
Smiling softly to herself at that though she heard Samuel question Asa and laughed" well to be fair you are very cultured"
That also reminded her something she needed to speak to just him about later. She hadn't got to before they had left for the night because it had happened during her errands for the day. Her OB/GYN had made a change to their status quo because of a concern so she would need to bring that up when they were alone.

His smile brightened at her teasing as his brow dipped skyward. As she accepted his hand and they took the floor he noticed the light though unmistakeable rbsh of connections in her aura. Nothing like that existed save bond mated pairing or a vampires marks. And he knew none of the Kiss had taken her so he chuckled to himself as they glided across the floor his practice and her preternatural skill showing up the other revelers. A swirl of white and purple gliding across the floor dipping in and out of view between other dancers. As they danced he asked, “You truly look amazing.”

Once Eli and his partner took the floor the rest of the groups seemed to loosen up and drink a bit more feeling this special blend and in awe of it most of them remembered being able to get a regular drink before infection so this was a bit of nostalgia. Once sufficiently buzzed the dance floor filled partners singles as the music changed sticking with the era but a bit more big band and swing.
Cutting a handsome figure in their finery forgetting fueds and dislikes of one or the other for a while tonight they were all just outcast and special beings. Even the more human members of the contingent seemed to let a bit loose. The lions and hired guns stayed vigilant tho it was fairly entertaining to watch the fox king try and do a split in his moss green zoot style suit not having stretched first.
This night thus far was definitely one for the books and once dawn got closer they would spread the word and probably all but vampire start the hunt. they knew that even tho the wolves had let the two go that he would not let them stay.
