This was a disaster of epic scale. He hadn't known shed challenged him and listening to things as he listed them off almost had him groan. He hated to think it but the ulfric had a bit of a point tho he already knew hed made a mess of it so he'd tried to back off only to have Jesse well-meaning step in and speak her piece. He flexed his jaw and this time would not stop the man from leaving this was to far a field to try and fix today.
Some talks would need to be had man to man and he would have to sit down with Jesse to take his licks for things he'd done to her in coming here. Tho his offer to make her under the protection of his group still stood. She would hunt with the bears upstate on the full moon instead of at the lupanar. She wasn't a rouge persay so this would have to work. asa couldn't hurt her still and that was a plus to him.
He had tried to make Erick feel bad by bringing Eli into it but he didn't Everyone had been chosen for a reason but just as the man him self-had said he didn't have to agree with it. He knew the restaurant that the wolves held was in his part of the city so they couldn't be done with each other. So when things cooled a bit he would call and they would chat and see what concession they could come to.
He didn't answer her yet on the fact of her being accepted it had been a taunt to the ulfric so he wouldn't speak on it till after the man had left.

She hadn't known she challenged the man either, which was what was frustrating her. She had lived on her own and yes she was strong willed. It was just how she was. It never meant she wouldn't fall in line but to say she didn't want to learn or know their ways when she was the one that pushed the meeting pissed her off. She was completely new to all of this and Asa was pretty much the first wolf she had met. Where he thought she was challenging him, which is a lesson she now learned, she thought she was being respectful and showing she was strong. THESE are the things she needed to learn but instead, the leader of the wolves had zero patience and just assumed a hell of a lot about her. Yes she could and would have fell in line, just like she did as a soldier, to the one in charge, however she did not go around and solute officers in the Armed Forces before she enlisted. She wasn't part of the pack yet, she was trying to become a part. He wasn't her leader yet, she was trying to make him so and show him she was a strong wolf that would be good for the pack. Perhaps she should have listened to her beast but at the same time, she still needed to learn what the beast was trying to tell her. She needed a teacher. She wanted a teacher. But Asa questioned every single thing about her instead of trying to give her guidance. Perhaps a lot of that was because of Erick showing up and her lie to keep from embarrassing him in some way. She didn't want to call him out on it in front of Asa so she went along and in turn, that made him think she had invited Erick. Which she didn't. She wanted to do this alone. Granted, it seemed she had messed up before he showed up but there is no knowing if that situation could have been fixed or controlled or... something. With a sigh she looked up to Erick, a look of defeat on her face, her question about his people not actually meant as a jab to Asa but a sincere question, as she was starting to seriously reconsider coming home.
"Well, guess I screwed that up." She rubbed the back of her neck before placing her elbows on her table and let her head drop into her hands, lightly gripping her own hair in frustration.

Asa made it out of her building and to the car before the thin control he held over himself finally lapsed. He only kept from lashing out because surely someone would see. He was fit to scream yet he held that much in instead he paced up and down the small cul de sac just south of her building near the car. He had to calm himself and the wolf which was riding him hard. Not because of anger or any other feeling simply from disrespect. It was hounding him like the devil on his shoulder because of it.
He’d learned from his mistakes and the pain that resulted. He didn’t mind pain but he wouldn’t abide unnecessary death. He knew in his heart of hearts that Erick was a better educator yet was not a wolf at least if she learned that much she might be willing able to see her mistakes and come to the pack. The door was never closed as long as she was allowed to live in the city. He knew she could be of potential, but a strong wolf was a danger to themselves and the pack around them if they couldn’t honor or respect the laws that made navigating man and beast understandable.
Composing how he screwed this up and why he paced back and forth as his guards were of course caught off guard. They looked from one to the other confused by what he was doing. He of course would need to explain what took place to Eliachem. It was accomplished that Jessie was not a rogue and she’d gain education hopefully so it worked out.

His heart broke for a moment watching her, they had all made mistakes him mostly. He sighed" ye didnae know lass ye truly didn't but what is important is what we do now. Ye are meant to be a wolf and meant for a pack but until ye feel ready and know some of the rules in general then maybe... Till then ye can be a bear"
He smiled trying to soften the blows of the day" I really am sorry Jess I really meant what I said I hear he was coming to your home and felt like ye would be alone and if he tried to hurt ye"
He shook his head not wanting to dwell on that particular thing" I should have tried to call again instead of showing up,Tho maybe it will be better this way I can give you some experience at being in a group then you can be proper pack. I also want to mend things with him as a leader he had some points about us both being chosen and me not trusting your boss to be mine at some respects"

She brushed hair back with her fingers and looked up at him as he spoke. She nodded softly to his words. "I guess I am a bear then. At least until I learn what I need to learn, and I think there is a lot I need to learn." She sighed softly. "I do appreciate your help though."
As he continued she smiled a little. "You were worried about me, I get that and I am glad you cared so much. Any other time though, I would probably chew you out for not thinking I could handle myself. Today though, I am going to skip being mad at you, since everything else went to crap, and just focus on the fact that you came because you were worried about me. Because you cared." She smiled softly once more.
"I do hope I can learn what I need to learn and we will go from there. Perhaps, one day, I will have a better meeting with Asa and maybe become part of the pack. Right now though, I am going to keep my distance unless he comes to me. I understand where he was coming from, and I understand that I made mistakes, but as a leader, I don't think he handled it very well either. But I own what I did. I f*cked up and I know it. So, I guess we will just see where things go from here. And now I know, where looking in someones eyes is normally a sign of respect and strength, in the wolf world, its a challenge. Lesson learned."

He sat near her" yer a cute bear tho"
grinning" yes very worried wrongly but still, and I appreciate you wanting to skip being mad at me I don't think I could take it after all that"
He knew that with a bit of time he could get her acclimated to wolves, and maybe they could visit other packs to get their perspective so she would learn from actual other wolves as well as him. He understood her trepidation tho and agreed about the lack of patience but what was done was done"aye the first lesson of many. Can I have a hug for coming all this way like Mario Andretti ?"

She looked to him as he sat and she couldn't help but to smirk when she heard his words. "Oh? you think so?"
Her smirk turned into another smile when she heard him and she laughed softly, playfully tapping his nose with her index finger. "Just don't let it happen again. You may be hot as hell but I promise I am fully capable of staying mad at you if it is earned. Today though, you are off the hook."
She could only hope that would happen, although today she didn't have her hopes up any longer. Meeting other packs would be nice though. She wanted to put in all the work it would take to learn everything she needed to know. One thing she wasn't was lazy. Or entitled. Okay that makes two things she wasn't. But she lived by the nature that you had to earn everything you had, and that included knowledge. When she heard his words she laughed and leaned over, wrapping her arms around his neck to hug him. "Thank you for coming Erick, and for being worried about me."

He grinned listening to her and snuggled her when she hugged him. She felt nice smelled nice. Almost pulling her into his lap but that hadn't been agreed on. He was a gentleman.
Releasing her" so we also need to sort the managers trainIng and your dress for the ceremony which hoping will happen soon despite setbacks"

She probably wouldn't have minded if he would have pulled her on his lap. With the day she had she could use the closeness. Still the hug and snuggle was good enough. She was having such a good day yesterday, it only figured today would suck. At least he was helping make it better.
She looked to him as he released her, sitting back in her chair. She heard his words and was happy for the change in conversation and distraction. "Yes we do. You have to tell me when you are able to come down and show me the ropes. Even if I am off, whatever works for you. I will work things out with boss man." She then smiled. "I like shopping. So it is a simple kind of ceremony with simple dress, or am I going full on gown?"

He nodded, his shop was closed Sundays which was also a slow bar day they could do it then during the afternoon while near no one was in." Sunday afternoon we could do brunch then training. As for the attire vampires do nothing simple it will be a black tie so a gown will be needed. tho I think lengths and such might be negotiable"
He shrugged tho he knew tux or damn near would be what he was in and that would be hard enough to find for his body shape, luckily he knew someone who knew someone. Having seen her in some fairly interesting outfits the thought of her looking princess-like was tantalizing.

She smiled and nodded. "Sounds good. I will call him and let him know we will be there on Sunday. Thank you for helping me with that by the way." She did let a bigger smile hit her lips when she heard about the type of dress she would get to wear. "I have never been to a black tie event, so I hope I don't embarrass you or anything."
The idea of getting to dress like a princess was making her smile as well. She never really got any kind of taste of the 'good life' and so this was going to be a new and welcomed experience. She looked to his eyes, her look soft and not challenging, as she spoke softly. "Well then I need to get a new dress. Which color do you like more? Black? White? Red? "

"Sounds good, you are so very welcome proves he's a smart man to want you managing"
then she mentioned embarrassing him and he guffawed" you? I hope I don't embarrass me... I go set up the flowers and leave before things get started normally so this will be my first actual event attending"
Looking her over again he thought" I've actually always been partial to green and gold but I think a black or white would look good on ye. besides once we get yer dress then we can sort my clothes I need a suit"
He stood and stretched" so Um this might be weird but i need to get back to the shop... I only put up an out to lunch but Id love the company if you don't mind or want to come we can get actual lunch on the way"

She smirked softly. "Depends on who you ask." She looked to the door playfully, obviously speaking on Asa's opinion of her.
She laughed softly then and shook her head. "I am sure you will do fine with it all. At least you understand all of this. Thats more then I can say about myself."
She smiled softly and nodded. "I will see what I can find. Maybe something black and gold, just for you." She smiled. The thought of him in a suit making her smile once more.
Hearing his invitation she arched a brow before she nodded. "Sure. I don't have any other plans." She stood to her feet then and gestured for him to lead the way.

He stood and smiled nodding leading her out he opened his truck door on her side then slid in. Then starting the truck he looked around and pulled out into traffic and headed back to the shop at a much more sedate pace. When he got there he opened up and went in showing her where the tea and snacks were and pulling an extra stool up behind the register" I can sort of show you how this runs as well so that when we go over the bar things it will translate"
Grinning but before he could talk again two younger ladies bustled in and asked for arraignments he started on them and while he worked they elbowed each other giggling and staring whispering about him being a shifter and wondering how shifters were in bed not realizing Jesse could probably hear them.

She moved with him outside, locking her door along the way. She slid into his truck with a smile. She watched at the world moved by as he drove. When they arrived at his shop she got out and followed him inside. She nodded to him when he showed her where the tea was and she grabbed herself a cup and a small cookie before moving to the extra stool he placed for her. Hearing him she nodded softly. "That works."
She took a bite of her cookie and a sip of her tea as the two customers came in and busied Erick. She tried not to pay too much attention, he was working and she was just there. When she heard them though her ears twitched. She felt a slow growl forming in her chest and her instincts were too react. And she really was planning too. Then a few realizations hit her. The first being, Erick wasn't hers. No matter if she wanted to say something, she had no right too. The other being that no matter how she WANTED to react, she had a feeling that being herself wasn't going to be something that was accepted anymore and so, for now, she just bit the inside of her cheek, a light growl forming in her chest as she grabbed a magazine and forced her attention to it.
