Raising a brow a smile appearing on his lips. "Do you know what Dominance actually means?" He asked purposefully poking at her beast. His rising filling the room with his aura. The scent of pack filling the room. As the not quite real yet all too real weight of being the focus of a pack of wolves. Neither carrying whether she lived or died as she was not pack just yet. "Dominance has very little to do with physical but it helps...Dominance is realizing that you carry the responsibility of all the lives that touches yours."

She arched her own brow as she listened to him and felt that aura filling the room. Her own beast was being pulled to the surface although she managed to keep it at bay. Respect was still a big thing to her. Her would see in her eyes and feel in her own aura the presence she actually carried within her, even if she held it back most of the time. "I do know what dominance means and I know it is more then physical. It is also mental and emotional control. I had to realize that already when I was still a human and it was something I carried with me since. I carried the responsibility and weight of the entire country on me shoulders and I did it without hesitation. I will always own all of my responsibilities be it for myself, my family, my country, or my pack if I am to become part of one." As she spoke she made sure to keep her eyes locked on his. It was both a sign of respect and to make sure he knew her words were true.

His smile broadened far more tooth than was necessary showing his beasts energy rising. She had the potential to be a strong wolf and he was a strong wolf. In packs the protections of the sexes didn’t apply. As such her meeting his gaze allowing her shield to drop were warning signs most wolves would understand. Even as his voice wasn’t heavy and his tone nothing more than friendly the truth was the first salvo’s of challenge had already begun.
It also proved that she had not dealt with pack life with so many lycanthropes existing just within the continental United States it would seem that someone or something had conspired to keep her isolated apart and yet hale and hearty. It spoke of things that were beyond his limited imagination to see. Yet the truth was before him. She had no idea.
"Are you sure you want to do this Jessie?" he asked his hands unclasping running over the top of her table. Gently caressing the table top and its edges. His eye all for her the pulse of his aura his beast its hackles rising his shielding dropping more.

Worry over her had won out, he had put out to lunch on the door and got in the truck and drove like a taxi driver to get to her. slowing before he hit her block knowing that Asa didn't travel alone most times. He slowed shields tight but still, the feel of him tipped someone off and he watched a communication be made. No matter let them tell, Jesse was what concerned him in this. Parking outside he slid free and went to the door. Giving the first man to get to close to him a very hard very pointed look.
Heading in he knocked on the apartment door taking a deep breath. Foot to foot the large man moved everything in him holding on to hard-won politeness his mother had taught him. You didn't just kick in a lady's door. No matter what reason short of her screaming for help.

Her eyes were still locked with Asa. She was probably getting herself into a very bad situation and because she was still too knew to all of it and the fact she was a stubborn and prideful woman, she would have continued. Luckily, there was a knock at her door that pulled her attention from Asa. Her nose twitched as she tried to see if she could catch the scent of who was knocking. Regardless if she could or not she excused herself from Asa.
"One moment." She said to him as she got up from her seat and headed to the door. When she looked through the peep hole and saw who it was a smile took over her lips, as if she wasn't just probably almost about to get herself into some deep shit, and she opened the door with that smile still there. "Erick!" She moved out of the way so he could come inside. "Come in."

His smile turned into a smirk as she held his gaze and didn’t exactly answer. He growled “Sure, the more the merrier.” His aura open the portion it was he felt the local Ursa and fellow Duke. Neither of them were in their home fiefdoms he because of attempting to bring Jesse into the fold and clearly the Ursa also because of the new wolf. His phone vibrated the moment Jesse moved to the door. Sliding it form his coat he read the text his screen lighting the underside of the table. He’d ignored the gun oil scent as he carried himself. And while each oil was a little different he was inured to the scent mostly. Withdrawing the piece from its holster he sat it on the table waiting for the Ursa and Jessie to return to her table.
He found the whole situation a little laughable really, having checked it he saw she was loaded for bear so to speak. Thinking like a cop as most decent criminals were able he didn’t believe in coincidences. As such rethought things quickly issuing a converge and wait order via text. Standing obfuscating the gun from sight he waited both hands clasped behind him. Oh this would be good indeed. Perhaps Jesse was not as unlearned as she said and this was an elaborate ploy. Either way they’d soon get to the bottom of things.

The fact that she answered the door was promising to him he tried not to look her over like a concerned parent after the first day of school. Stepping in" I um got yer message bout the training and yeah no problem.. "
Saying that as he stepped in and spotted the wolf. Letting out a low breath and then looking past him to make sure no one was hidden inside. He glanced at Jesse" so I am pretty sure I said id come to this so forgive my lateness"
He didn't want to shake the heck out of her and ask her what she was thinking for letting so dangerous a person in her home with no backup but he thought it. " Miss much? Sorry we haven't formally met yet Im Erick Kelly of Kelly blooms in Brooklyn"
Offering the ulfric his hand to shake like this was just any other business meeting.

If she was in the know about everything, it would have been the perfect little ploy, alas, she was not lying and although she was very stubborn and strong willed, she was also a bit naive when it came to all the politics. She arched a brow as she looked to Erick, her back still to Asa. Although the man did always bring a smile to her lips, he did still bring a questioning look to her eyes. A bit of her was disappointed. Did he not trust her? Did he not think she could take care of herself? Maybe she couldn't? At least when it came to the subject at hand. Still, she felt a bit frustrated over it. She wasn't one to embarrass any man though, and Erick obviously felt as though he needed to be there so, for now, she smiled and nodded.
"No problem. I wasn't sure you were going to make it."
She turned and closed the door behind them before following him back into her apartment and looking to Asa, listening as Erick introduced himself.

Squinting at the incongruent information Erick provided in his manner his carriage. He would look past it for now. Only as he’d like this whatever it was to play out a little more. He smirked and shook the larger man’s hand.
" Well, Erick, I’m Asariel Wolff."
Looking to Jessie he sat back down sliding the chair a bit further from the table resting his hand on the table near her firearm. Glancing from the gun to the two of them.
" Just so I am aware is there a reason why you’d need to be at a meeting between Jessie and myself. I know she doesn’t have a grasp on pack life. But then again how would you?"
Straight to the point enough games enough playing around. Erick was dripping concern all over the place.

He caught looks from both of them, most people assumed big muscle meant dumb. He would deal with her confusuion and disappointment later. now tho as the name was given he nodded then once the man who sat as if this was his own abode and was very blunt, Erick smirked.
BLunt was fine he could be blunt" Jesse I have helped since she arrived here and feel a good amount of care over, as for why I felt I should be here you seem to have picked up on the things she doesn't know as someone who's never been in a pack before and while neither have I I've lived around enough of them to have been of help to her navigating this first step into the world she doesn't know. Though if we want to be real clear, I don't know what your intentions are for her and since the wolves around here don't have all that great a rep.. well I wanted to be sure of the sort of person you are"
He could take all the offense to that he wanted, Erick didn't care. the wolves had dug a hole and would have a hard climb out of it. He wanted the best for Jesse and if it was pack then fine but he would have made her a part of the sleuth first before he let this.. man in front of him do her dirty.Noticing the gun tho he spoke" that your gun or hers?"

She looked to Asa and then to Erick before her eyes moved to the table and took in her gun there. She wasn't surprised he found it, nor did she have any apologies for having a gun there. A girl, wolf or not, needed protection in the city. She shrugged as she returned to her seat and crossed on leg over the other. She really was unsure of what exactly was going on but she was paying enough attention that she would figure it out. Her blue hues looked from one to the other as they spoke of her as if she wasn't even there. This annoyed her a bit, even though she understood and was appreciative of Erick wanting to protect her.
" I am right here, you know. Erick is here because he has helped me from the beginning and wanted to help plan this meeting for me. He has a lot on his plate so I took the initiative since it seemed important that I meet you. This is however my home, and he is welcome here whenever he wishes. He heard of the meeting and kept his promise of being here." She then looked to Erick. "Its mine. I keep it under the table. Guess he found it." She shrugged once more.

He looked from Erick to her and back he chuckled a bit at the ludicrousness of it all. Standing he placed both hands in his pockets. He looked as if he were considering something of the same weight as black or blue socks. Shrugging he chuffed and rolled his shoulders settling once more.
" You are indeed but as a pack member for the big stuff like dealing with other leaders of the city I or the Lupa, Ulfreya speak for you. Its like the army there are ranks to this officially. Or like the mob there are tiers. We speak one to another officially," He said nodding to Erick and back.
He sighed no this wouldn’t be easy as she had never lived in a pack never had the boon of a pack and had some strange affinity for escaping the rules of the land.
" Being prepared is one thing. Having it at a meeting like this is another. Threats of any kind are a serious thing. But meh," he said shrugging Erick was as surprised by it as he was based on his actions and question. No set-up but it was clear Erick was here to protect her. He shook his head at that notion. “Wolf though you are Jessie you’re clearly not cut out for the pack. Too long on your own. Too long flouting the rules of our kind. You need a clan and as you and Erick here are on such a good standing I think that would be best for you. Of course if you should actually want to be part of the pack or give a real try you have my number.”
Moving forward he smiled motioning towards the door,” Excuse me.” Once reaching the door he turned back. “Good night.” Nodding as if that took care of it and it did. He’d just foisted a problem off that would have resulted in blood shed and maybe more onto a leader who was accustomed to dealing with lone stubborn individuals. He wished him luck as bears were not wolves and the difference was never more apparent than now where as a wolf he knew he had no business in a sleuth function. He really and truly did consider all of the options. Teaching her would result in the loss of life of pack members or worse enmity between leaders. Creating an inability to work together.
But Jez would be happy no bloodshed took place.

He watched it all unfold and frowned, in his heart, he was almost relieved to have the man be leaving but he knew it was Jess that had to choose what she wanted from this. If he had messed up her chances by trying to make sure she was safe he'd feel a bit bad. Tho the fact that the ulfric would so quickly give up on a wolf in their territory said a lot about the man. It smacked a bit of cowardice and need for ego stroking. He sighed" Jess Ill abide how ye want if ye want me to step out so you can sort this I will. If ye want me to have ye as a member of the sleuth I will do that too"
He looked to Asa as he went for the door" ye and I still have to sort some things on our own outside of this I'm sure."
Looking between them, he didn't see her as a problem or issue. Tho he knew different leaders felt differently. So maybe he had flubbed this showing up but his bear had sworn he was going to come in here and torture her to death. Where he got that idea he didn't know. Calling to Asa" I came because I thought you might prove me right about being a monster so don't take that out on her, please. Prove me wrong then"

Jessie was in awe as everything unfolded. What the hell just happened? She blinked a few times before her face scrunched a bit in a mixture of confusion and a bit of anger. First and foremost because he questioned her protecting herself, and that even being a reason she wouldn't be considered "right for the pack."
"Hold up a second. So, because I am smart enough to own a gun and had it at my table, under it, in its holster, because i knew strangers were coming, just so I could feel safe, that means I am not right for the pack? Because I was smart and prepared. Did I even flinch when you took my seat and in doing such, made it impossible for me to have access to my gun? No. I did not. I own it, and I keep it close. I do not see the problem in that. The fact that you do however, shows that perhaps you are right. I am not right for the pack, because a pack that would fault a girl, new to the city, new to being a wolf, and new to all of this, that reached out on her own to try and be part of your pack may not be the kind of pack I want to be part of. I am a soldier first. I am smart and I am prepared. I know how to protect myself and others. If that isn't "right for the pack" then so be it. Thank you for your time."
She then looked to Erick. Although she kept that strong demeanor, inside she was a bit hurt, maybe even a bit crushed. Not because she was defeated but because part of her questioned if returning to New York, her home town, was the right choice and that bothered her. Why would she ever question coming home. She heard Ericks words and she smiled softly and asked with a soft voice. "Do they treat their members like that? Would I be "right" for them?"

He stopped just outside her door as they both fired off missives. The smart thing to do was to keep going as her actions and her statements proved him right. She couldn’t see it and would push when she should learn. She was tied to Erick who well meaning had just assumed he was a monster because he ran off as a point of fact any wolves who were involved of the same ilk as the Silver claws. Because he was planning for the long game. Letting wolves who truly either were not out for the good of the lukoi or unwilling to learn truly learn how to exist as part of a pack. He had a lot to answer for as yes, he ran things like a mob and kept contact with them but the dirt he did was outside of the city. Lots of drives to New Jersey or upstate yes but he kept the city clean of wolf problems. Yes, he still associated loosely with the mob but only as a way to know what was in the works and keep his wolves clear of them. He was still an angry wolf but he reined it in so that others wouldn’t suffer. " Here’s the thing Erick I doubt we’ll ever see eye to eye on this. You are wrong to be here much as I would be wrong to step into anything that directly pertains to the Sleuth. Until you were guilty of abusing a member of your Sleuth and they asked for protection I wand everyone else would be wrong to interfere. Its disrespectful. But quite simply the master of the city chose each of us for a reason. I may not agree but I do respect that…You clearly don’t respect me my title nor the Master of the city who chose you to lead not just your clan but a portion of the city."
Looking to Jessie he pursed his lips counted quickly in his head opening his mouth to speak deciding against that tact. He would try to explain once more, sure she wouldn’t hear him. But willing to give it a shot once more. " You’re not dumb to protect yourself. You’re actually quite resourceful. But you challenged me after inviting in. Even giving you a pass for that you can’t do that while armed without repercussions. You can’t reach out to another group leader when dealing with pack business. So, " Sighing suddenly tired very fucking tired. He raised his finger as he said “One you don’t know nor care to learn our ways. Two you invited another person a clan leader no less to an issue between the pack. Three you don’t know enough to listen to your beast and issued a challenge. Four you did all those with a firearm within easy reach. Five you are strong wolf whose martially trained with no idea and no seeming care when you are giving offense and being disrespectful… You are in the employ an thus pocket of the master of the city. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. No one wants you to be a victim but you have to be willing to learn willing to actually honestly give this a try and everything...” Waving his hand at the two of them. “Shows you aren’t. Your faux pas is as big as his and he knows better. And you say you are a soldier yet when meeting a commanding officer you challenge the chain of authority. So yeah you aren’t worth the trouble because this was done under false pretenses but I get it. You don’t like the rules or respect given as its extended and need to justify. Enjoy yourself.” Saluting with his left hand smiled and continued leaving.
