Walking through the door Bhas choked back his revulsion. If he only looked at the surface of things it would have made him sick. But he had been in this same situation before and was able to get a hold of himself. The detainee they were here to see stood a whopping five foot three and weighed 9ninety three pounds. Yet here she sat bound by chains originally forged to tow battleships. The chains were so thick and heavy that only the strongest of lycanthropes could do more than breathe in them. Due the silver content mixed in to the chains they inhibited the ability to shift. Even those that were able could only do so for very limited time. The longest recorded was two minutes fifteen seconds. Not long enough for them to do more than be shot and killed. The side effect of he binding chains also meant the vaunted healing was limited as well. As such she sat the evidence of a fight marring the entire left side of her face.
He’d seen worse but it was the glaring unhealing damage and the youthfulness of their detainee combined to make this a very tough moment. Nineteen one normally expects to see a nearly full matured person. Patricia was barely out of her awkward teen phase. One could still see the idea of her running through fields and splashing in puddles. The incongruity of the image was disconcerting. Because her fingers were still coated in blood.
Bhas cleared his throat and moved forward undoing the button his blazer sitting in the only other chair. He knew as a lycanthrope she would naturally pick up on power displays. So he poured it on heavy. “My name is Bhaskar. I am going to decide if you get thrown back inside or we have to show up one niht soon and execute you.” Raising a hand to silence her before she spoke. “ Don’t talk to me.” Thumbing over his shoulder to Davis he said. “You will address Davis. You will answer her questions honestly. You lie that’s a strike. You fail to answer that’s a strike. You threaten her or anyone else,” He said motioning to the other six people in the room one of which was the Psychiatrist he had reservations about. “That’s two strikes. Three strikes you are done. Nod your head if you understand. “ Once she shakily nodded he stood turning his back to her he apologized to Davis as she had to see that show but it put her in a very accommodating mood. He was clearly playing the bad cop.
Much like with the witches it made him some friends on the staff. It was funny how often that tactic worked. Setting himself up for an enemy of the preternatural…

Monica was used to power Samuel beast would choke most if those in this roon yet this girl this slip if a thing had them scared enough to do cruel things. Her mouth was dry but she'd not be the weak link. Looking at bhas she nodded politely avoiding glaring at her jailers.
The lion in the girls aura looked defeated and sad. It barely lifted a head in her direction and that quietly broke monicas heart. She stepped close not enough to grab but closer than the others. " my name is marshal davis I can tell clearly what you hold and can also tell a lie or omission from truth as I am sure you can"
She let her mull that and caught her nod " good we understand each other..you were almost to release no hystory of violence or misbehavior why now? Did some one threaten you..were you scared to leave after you time in or was there something else?"
She watched the color swirl mostly tired abit fustrated and a hint of fear that appeared when she chanced a glance at the shrink. Her halting " threats made over getting out" was barely clear but she knew bhas heard and she saw no lie in it. Monica nodded to hum an affermative like during a lie detector.
" what sort of threats Patricia? Made by who?"
Again the glance and this time more a hue of unsureness like she didn't know how to answer with out lying or outright pointing fingers" hold on dont answer yet "
Monica turned and looked at those behind her zeroed in on the shrink who was trying to look non plussed" why are you present again? We have your reports and can ask questions later..you seem to be a distraction"

Bhas knew they couldn't start too much now. As an officer of the courts the psych had certain protections. Namely he or another state mandated analyst had to be present to evaluate the mental welfare and well being of all parties.
Just because the state spared no expense on erecting facility didnt mean they hadnt cut corners on keeping the place staffed. As such the resedential psych was also the exit interview analyst.
Stepping in Bhas made a decision. Ine he hoped wouldn't bite him too much later. "Davis thats it!!! I have had enough of your sympathizing with these monsters. This one is yours take her out front were executing the order and you will do it!!! And get rid of her...they disappear all the time anyway. Doctor Abram would you get the death certificate ready..."
As he spoke he put his body between Davis Patricia and the rest of the room. He hoped Dabis was able to calm her enough without letting the rest know. As the others lookedbfrom one to the other he saw recognition dawn. Self preservation took over ahead of common sense. It was clear tge Doctor had stacked the deck in his favor. All eyes were on him.
And he was dirty as he softly smiled at the idea. It was quick a flutter really but he thought he had an ally in whatever it was he was actually doing. He nodded and motioned to the door.
Barking orders Bhas yelled at the two officers, "Well come on help her get the prisoner out she cant drag her to the door alone." Walking with the doctor Bhas hid his actual anger behind his pretend anger. Just what he needed now he would have to act. Seven different laws were being broken. And all were killing offenses.

Davis heard him and anger clouded her face she would have believed him but his aura was wrong for his words. She didn't drop character, and turned to Patricia. She knew that in the commotion they wouldn't hear her whispering onlt the shifter could." I am not going to kill you or let anyone else do so. Play along but stay calm"
Monica made like she was tugging her off the bed but hating it. The other two had to undo some of the chain as it was attached to the floor. She tied her hospital gown so she'd get some modesty. Just wrist and neck manicles now and they lifted her sagging form.
Shudders as they followed out and it took everything in her to not draw and head shot the shrink. His aura was swirling with malice and cruelty. He thought he was getting away with it.
Stammering purposly as she addressed bhas" she did nothing why would you do this? You've made your point .please"
Trying to sound piteous and off balance at killing Patricia.

He did the math in his head quickly and it added up bad. Too many doors too many guards no clue who was whom. So swallowing back the untenable situation he focused. As Davis went along he caught sight of Patricia between her gaurds followed by Davis. They had to get outside they also had to paly it up more. Davis was right. Drawing his service issue he summoned up every bit of hate he had allowin that to suffuse his countenance.
" Damn You Davis. Just do it. Its as easy to bury two as one!!!"
Looking to the two gaurds, “Get them outside to my car I’ll be there shortly.” Looking back to Monica, “If you screw this up it will be on your head. I swear to god!!!” He was angry at the situation as well as having to all but play along with someone he would rather see buried. He made a silent promise to be there when the doctor received the needle and went to sleep permanently.
The drawing of his service issue was not only to sell the act but just incase things went sideways. He really would make sure the doctor caught the first shot.

Right then she saw it form in her head she checked the gaurds one was scared his aura unsure the other would be a problem. He was calm and uncaring of the though of them shooting the girl or her for non compliance.
He would have to get dropped either before they got to the car or after. She wouldn't kill him but he'd be out if she had to get him to the car. She squared her shoulder and marched past bhas giving him a mock hateful glare but tge hate was real just not for him.
Taking over pushing the one she wanted gone out his place"fine i will do it but i will walk with her you unlock gates and let us out. Shes more steady so he and i can handle her. Stay and protect your precious dr"
He cursed and stomped to do it but she saw the uncertainty of leaving his meal ticket ungaurded. Good she knew that left her with the ally. Saying loud enough to be over heard" well shoot her at the car so I can put her in the trunk to dispose of off campus."
Letting bhas know what to listen for. As they got back to the outside no one seemed to bat a lash about thrm leading a prisoner out like this." On your knees Patricia dont move."
The girl hesitated but fallowed her lead. Gun visable she told the last gaurd" unchain her so thers kess weight in the trunk she wont have time to heal enough to be dangerous"
He looked unsure until she cursed in impatience and cleared her gun like she'd cover him. She got close to Patricia after he took them off and moved vack. Close enough to not be heard unless you could hear shifter well during a whisper." Unless you want to be covered in blood and brain rest of your day step out of the line of spray"
He near stumbled and moved bith better to hide what she was going to do." Im going to pray for her forgiveness and mine"
Then whispering" patrica I'm going to have to wound you to sell this. I'm using regular shot it will still sting but drop like your dead when it happens. lay limp to the trunk we will get you out. Do you understand?"
At her nod monica said"amen " loud enough to be heard leveled the gun to look like a head shot from any angle but hers or directly in front. She was going to graze the shoulder. Trigger squeezed the sound was to loud and the blood spray was convincing. Pattica good to her word dropped fast on the wounded side so tbe blood would be hard to pin point.
Trusting bhas heard and was now clear with her ruise to come out. She holster and lifted the small frame. Trying to brave face for the guard who wouldnt look at her. Good he was feeling guilt so he wouldn't look tp close. She got the body in on tarp they carried for scenes. Then shut it turning to him" well your free to go and can keep feigning innocence but you know we are the real monsters"
He frowned turned and beat feet back in.

The number one thing said from witnesses of a crime was it all happened too fast or so fast. Even when Preternatural s were not involved. The drugs in ones body slowed the world dialed in focus too much for some and for others not accustomed to that focus of potential or actual death it was jarring. Bhas lived in that world he was hyper focused most times. He had been diagnosed with adult onset ADHD. He was usually focused on so much at one time it seemed as if he was focused or couldn’t focus on one thing. He did in his own way. It was chaotic especially when he spoke stream of conscious to anyone he tried not to most times but when he was drinking things came out. The way he saw things came out. So he often seemed to be leaping from one thing to another while still holding the first conversation.
As such all of Davis’s clues and tells were visible for him as well as the Doctor who it seemed had other things up his sleeves. The guards were the doctors either by choice or opportunity he wasn’t sure nor did he care he ruled them out. They would get caught as well maybe not needle lullabye’s like the doctor but close enough to count. But he knew there were others and they would need to be sussed out. He had precious few moments to do more than lay the ground work for a sting. He’d counted their steps in it would take Davis at a quicker pace two thirds the time getting out than in. That meant he’d have to run. Running would draw attention. He needed to not draw the attention that would slow him down.
Scylla meet Charybdis he thought. He would have to convince the Cyclops he was ‘No One’ and lash himself to the mast all in one fell swoop. He didn’t have an idea that would help he could shoot the doctor and have the doctor convince everyone that it’d been done by Davis. Dangerous but doable. So as she went off Bhas stepped closer to the doctor as they went through his office door. “She needs to be dealt with. But I can’ just drop her. Not without a reason. Can you help me I have a plan but we have to be quick she’s dumb but she’s not stupid. She may rabbit.”
Speaking quickly he pushed where he would normally have backed off. He was sure his desperation was bleeding through. And luckily it worked. He doctor agreed all smug and self-satisfied that he had leverage on him. Bhas took a certain satisfaction from what he did. He instead of firing a grazing shot fired a through and through. He would live but walking would be no fun ever again. Telling him to tourniquet the wound to his leg Bhas took off at a run yelling his head off as the doctor rallied his men and called out to open the doors. Bhas flew through the doors on the run hearing a shot as he passed through the second to last.
He was fast but he was only human and he hoped to god things had not gone sideways. He was relieved that things had not. Without a word he fired a shot at Davis’s feet yelling get in and firing over the guards head. Hopping in the passenger seat he rolled his window down to cover if he had to.

Monica had already been about to get in when he shot at her. She didn't care how many times it happens you never got used to it. He was gonna get chewed out higher ranking or not. She'd never shoot at him unless he was trying to kill her and it was last resort.
For the moment though she was in and speeding away back through the main gates which hadn't been notified in the commotion. When they were away she looked at him." Where to?"
Jaw tight anger clamped down on so she wouldn't say the rest of what was simmering in her mouth. She also realized this was a part of the retelling she'd have to omit when handing Patricia over to samuel or bhas might just disappear. As mad as she was he didn't deserve that.

Bhas was focused on the tower and waiting for the shot. It never came but the guards were scrambling. They’d not give pursuit but he knew they’d call and radio ahead. They were nominally federal officers as such if any staties were near at hand they’d give pursuit or at least canvas. Once they were clear of the property in full he turned in his seat facing forward once more.
" Head to the Adirondack Airport we have a satellite office near there. Sorry about selling it a little too well. I know that look I’ve been there. Worked undercover for the DEA for years had to be shot at on purpose and accident quite a lot. You ever get used to it." He shrugged and put away his service issue. He looked in the back seat as he secured his belt. He immediately knew the trunk and why. “She looked like a size two you think that will be too small?” He knew they’d have to get cracking on the reports and get to a safe house until everything started rolling. He saw a week maybe. Not what the investigation they were on needed but a week would be good time with all the redtape they’d have to shovel through.
He knew a change counselor that could talk with Patricia who was legally dead and would be until the time passed when they could enact several investigations. “ We are going to have to transfer some of the caseload to other Deputies or either this case though I think that you’d like to run point on this one instead or at least first.”

Monica was not used to any one but her and maybe a empath knowing what she was thinking. She was normally the only one who could read the room that well. It was a bit odd. Releasing the tight jaw" ok fine and understood but ir we could avoid it happening again that would be great..and yeah she felt about a two"
Aiming for the airport she thought" well she probably won't trust anyone else for the moment and we need to get a pro we can trust to evaluate her. That will cover us for when the good doctor tries to say shes dangerous or was. The witches will hold as we beed time for reports from the pi and nola to come in"
She shrugged as they got close now seeing airport signs" there is also grunt work they don't have to have us for so delegate that. Maybe even put some one on nola and Seattle to gather information. I noticed some things out there marked disturbances but kike thefts from witchy shops like Crystals and herbs for possible potion or spell work "
Waiting for him to direct her to the office.

"Next exit down we'll merge left on the ramp. We're going to a joint safehouse office in the blockbuster one towm over."
He said thinking of which deputy wpuld bw nearly as astute and would keep comepetent notes. He thought of a case agent hed worked with last year. He knew Thaddeus was a wild card always following his hunches but he was good police. Smart as a whip and wasn't biased. Hed have to call and see if he could get him on loaner.
"I have a feeling youre right lets stick with this. I have a lot to get going to bring the doctor down. Once we get settled you run this one I'll get more resources your way but for now the deputy in chief here will be ypur liason once I fly to DC."

Monica changed lanes and then fallowed his directions. She nodded" sounds like a plan I will do what I can. Once we get her stabilized I can get her a more permanent place if you agree "
As they pulled in she looked at him" I know you were acting before and I hope this doesn't hurt my future but I care about all beings as long as they fallow the law. That includes shifters vamps witches and gifteds. This girl just wrong place wrong time wrong set of hands. Deserves a chance"
He could think what he will. She grabbed a bag and went to the trunk. Speaking through it" its marshal davis Patricia, I am going to let you out. We are trusting you to be peaceful knock if you understand "
She had her gun aimed at the trunk. She heard a clear knock and then she holstered and popped the trunk. Waiting for her to get out carefully.

He nodded in return to her admission. It was hard working RPIT and not going one of two ways either all preternatural were monsters and needed constant booting to the neck or they were no more monstrous than the non-preternatural. He was of both minds. They were monsters but no more than the non-preternatural they just happened to have better weapons usually. " I’m just worried. I’ve spoken with a lot of the lycanthrope community on and off the record. It’s just that they are predisposed to violence. Its like they are even more hard wired to anger than even cops. It’s like the same triggers are exponentially harder for them to resist. I worry about the younger ones who’ve gotten a taste of getting their feet wet in the deep end of rage. It always makes me worry for them not just the world around them."
He didn’t say that her responding to the difficult situation she was in was one of those triggers but he knew she understood that to be the case. As they exited he slipped his sidearm out covering Davis as she opened the trunk. She was very trusting and brave he hoped it wouldn’t bite her eventually.
AS Patricia rose form the trunk he held still silent as death. He knew she’d been scared by him and as a feline strain she would need to reassert her dominance. The drives were clear. He exhaled centering down the length of his barrel killshot locked in. he spared a flick of gaze to Davis. He wasn’t sure how much experience she’d had but he was braced. He would hate to do so but if he didn’t shoot to kill Patricia could very well kill both he and Davis before help was anywhere near being effective.
As she stood rolling her shoulders and stretching in small ways that even with all of his experience with yoga he would never be able to manage he called out his voice calm cool even. “Patricia I am Bhaskar Yatri I know you can feel me. My acting aside I really am here to help. Are we okay?”

She listened to his response" yes I understand and most cops don't have another thinking feeling palpable being sharing their body that happens to solve things differently than we feel is civilized"
Shrugging then keeping her eyes on Patricia full height in knowing she wore rex level lion scent faded but there. She also knew of the two that bhas was the threat. As she stepped out she kept her hands in view. Looking at him" you were very good at acting but I could still smell the lie as you told er to kill me. I didnt like being shot but I hated it there more."
Saying that meant they wern't buddies but she knew where her bread was buttered. She stepped around the car and waited to walk in knowing they wouldn't let her behind them. Monica shrugged again and headed in.

It wasn’t a praise worthy exaltation of friendship but it would do. Especially as Patricia seemed willing to trust Davis. He was willing to ride shotgun instead of the driver seat on this one. Without knowing it Patricia could be a key witness and perhaps do some real good much like Davis’s pet bear.
He had a feeling she was leaning in that direction when she mentioned someone they could trust. He knew that some of the best counsellors were Ursine. He wondered if some part of that calm could be of help. Unfortunately, he’d been witnessed to the relapse of anger. He was worried Patricia specifically. It was a dread more than anything.
Of the two-hundred thirty-six Deputy Marshals in the district the ten who worked out of this office and protected this safehouse were the longest tenured. They had somehow managed to turn themselves into their own SOG not officially denoted as such but they used their contacts experiences and skills to assist each other clear their case logs. He appreciated their loyalty to each other even as he knew that eventually some of their shine would tarnish. He hated thinking along those lines but even as he turned a blind eye to the resolutions of a few of their cases he knew the coincidences were piling up precipitously.
