Nodding at hos explanation she watched as one car was dropped and last night car was taken to be returned to what ever motor pool it came from. Then he mentioned the circling and she quirked a brow.
Looking quick she bit her lip then nodded" yeah that's him lemme ho catch him up and get him on the road then we are good"
She hoped bhas would get that he needed to not fallow because that kinda ruined the point of survalance and a pi. She jogged to the passenger side and checked to make sure it was just him and her.
Slipping in to talk" take her round once more slow if we can theres alot going on"

As Monica rushed around he committed her partner to memory. He struck a chord and Abel didn’t like it. He wouldn’t have been here without Samuels text. He’d planned on being in Chicago now instead of working his contacts from afar. He wouldn’t dare say it better be important but he felt it. Samuel was in the one place he hated alone with an untrustworthy lioness as his only real back-up. Yes, Abel knew that the local Rex was his brother but he was also aware that they had an unresolved history. The last time they were operating in Chicago they’d had to leave in a hurry with an untrustworthy lioness in tow. Abel wished they’d stayed. The weather agreed with him which was weird for a NOLA boy. Needless to say Abel was nothing if not loyal and so he was here. He’d checked the area four times and had a bump car on standby. No one would be able to follow them if he wished and as such he eased into traffic slow enough to gauge every car and bystander on the street. "Detective." Abel said by way of greeting. “Whats the job?”

Bhas watched as Davis went to the car. He watched the car and the driver torn as protocol was to have a chase car in pursuit. He hated the risk she was exposing them to and yet took solace in her willing to risk for the job. He lived the job this was it for him. Between the sleepless nights it was the job. Not sure how long she would need he opened his phone and began making calls.
There were several leads he needed to follow and chases he could multitask with. As such it wasn’t long until he’d tracked a back channel to Xanatos. He had everybody wheels up within the hour they were going to Miami. It was outside his jurisdiction officially but as he was on a case it was within his purview so long as he liased with the local office.

Monica wasn't stupid she knew abel well enough to know he wasn't pleased with being here instead of with samuel and she understood it because odly enough she felt the same but for different reasons.
Taking a breath" what I am about to tell you could be very bad for everyone on a national scale. I trust you because I have come to see what we have in common. If this gets bad it could hurt him and alot of others and I don't want that."
With that established " weve got dead witches in nola more than likely killed by another witch but made to look mundane cause of death and yesterday I watched vampires dead to the day rise as shifted beasts. Think about that and then the coven we had to call in for help pulled the life and magic out of even the building the creatures were in weakening our witch enough we had to move them and even I caught a bit of blow back."
Letting that sink in" ao I am hoping you see why I asked him to have your help. We need to find out more about the coven from yesterday as in why this magic was being practiced whos gathering the witches into organization, skeletons in the closet and how far this has spread because its possibly national and not a coincidence of course most anything you get can be used as a way to insulate but I'll need a report enough to make this look legit and keep my boss off my ass."
As they neard the end of the circuit she handed over the list of names she remembered with whistler's at the top with a star." By the way as of yesterday its deputy marshal"
Giving him an actual smile despite it all hoping he'd at least be happy for her.

Keeping his eyes on the road Abel cut his eyes at the mention of NOLA. It was a heady place even now filled with memories. He chuckled at the mention of a national association of witches. It was a shame that she wasn’t local anymore and great that she was on the national stage. They’d have to be more circumspect her and Samuel. He relished the challenge of protecting them but he also considered the escalated precautions. Swooping around the block Abel listened hard and fast " Congratulations Deputy Marshal… I will call when I have news." Abel slid next to the curb pausing long enough for Davis to get out. He wasn’t looking forward to getting involved with witches. He was looking less forward knowing this could very well be a national thing.

She was surprised he didnt seem to be concerned with the leaching of life and magic but he seemed to realize why she asked for him. She nodded slipped out of the car.
Walking out of the car door shut. It took her a few steps to get to the car bhas was in. She slid in and closed the door." Hes on it and will keep me updated. We ready?"
Offering a gentle smile.

Bhas had booted up the interface and used his credentials to gain hers. Once she was in the car he left her sign on and password up so that she could copy it. Pointing at it he said, “That’s your access…What did your PI have? Log on first and oh by the way do you have carsickness?” He asked in preparation of taking off.

She looked at the screen commited login to memory but also copied it down to memorize and then hide the info later. Logged in she answered." He seem to agree the witches behavior was uncharacteristic but that it should be taken seriously and he will get right on digging up back info on the coven while being low profile."
She was paraphrasing as he had actually said little but impiled." No planes make me a bit nervous but cars trains buses and boats I am ok on"
Settled in she strapped her belt and went back to searching.

Bhas took off moving through the traffic with a practiced hand. His father was a cab driver in his youth and his mother was literally a rocket scientist. Speed was in his blood and he held no fear thaht he lived the best most virtuous life he could as such he drove with abandon. If God or any other name for the animating force for the world wanted his life it was there to be taken.
As such the drive that would normally take forty minutes took them twenty. As such they sslid to a quiet crawl into the parking spot with the world having blurred past them. The New York ME’s office was not far from One PP or Federal Plaza and yet this ws the best forensics facility in the area. Fast was better than skill in theses cases and as they were needed answers this was the place.
“Here we are Davis lets get a look at the bodies and brainstorm.”

She gulped hard he drove like a mad man. As he raced through traffic she tried to keep typing. Lip bitten she didn't want to show him the nerves.
When they arrived, she slid out. " well ready as I get"
She'd bookmarked a few promising cases to check later.

They had a lot of ground to cover and he hoped he was right in Davis being a quick study he glimpsed a few pieces of information she’d earmarked for perusal. He liked the way her mind worked it wouldn’t be long until she was working her own cases in full. He still had the responsibility of coordinating he other deputy marshals and Marshals into an effective team. Cursing as he all but forgot they were to oversee, well he was to oversee the release of the educated from Camp Gabriels. He stopped in his brisk walk two places to be and very little time.
Turning to Davis he said, “ We have places to be so we have to be thorough and I will leave the note taking to you as well as the questions of the M.E. You have the PI as well as you know what we faced in out and back on the road we have to get to Camp Garbiels there are a few infected that have passed the state requirements for release and we need to be there to approve or condemn. You got it?”

Listening monica repressed a shudder shed heard of places like camp Gabriel. It was not the happy smiling friendship and bonding of a summer camp but more like a legal work slash prison camp for new and or potentially dangerous paranormals.
Often well neaning relatives would bring newly infected or newly come into their powers hoping to get them..help. Not realizing they should let the local group collect its new member. She would have to sheild there for sure but to bhas she just nodded " got it"
In then went and she asked for oermision to use a reorder and snap pictures. She asked her questions focusing on the lack of decomposition and near mummified remains. Also asking if there had been any samples of fur left and if so were they all one animal type. Like wolves verses lions because if the witches could only make one type of beast that could help them narrow it down.

He caught the look at mention of Gabriels but it was a similar sentiment to his own so he didn’t speak on it. Sadly they were keepers of the law and not the arbiters of them. As they entered he stayed on his phone coordinating the other Marshals movements and data as Davis asked her questions. His nearly eidetic memory helping him multitask and focus all the same.
He nodded as she brought up strain types and focused in on the facts compiling data wide and far. He sighed one of the purported releasees had gotten in to a scrape. He wouldn’t rule her out just because of a slip. He put away his phone as he looked over the digital imagery that popped up on the screen from Davis’ pictures. “Davis go back to the previous two. There’s a track mark at the hairline.”

Aware of him but not focused on him until he spoke to her she nodedcand flipped back the two shots then zoomed to the hair line. Sure enough there was something there.
Curious for sure that made her check the others the same way. Wasn't always the same spot but most times hidden in a place meant to not be visually checked.
Looking at him" injected with a potion or magical aid? Or what if its just straight up lycanthropy but the other stuff nulled the vampire in them?"
Looking at the m.e" can we check for that or are they to far gone?"

That’s the way he said mentally congratulating Davis, chiming aloud he said, "There are certain spells and potions I know only have efficacy once ingested. It would make sense as a way to bypass a vampires natural defenses it’d have to be in their system closer than touch." It seemed as if this was a breakthrough of some sort. Yet having an idea as to how it was done still didn’t tell them who was doing it. First, they needed to find who was capable if there was a way of knowing such a thing. He knew it had to be someone who could get close enough to a vampire without raising their alarms.
The M.E. chimed in " We run type and strain for any ten-ninety sevens. Got a database going here. Just wish it was more thorough its just something we do locally. Shame there’s no national registry like CODIS we could use. Stupid ACLU and them butting in making the job so much harder." Waving her hands to cut off the diatribe she was sure she’d get from the feds. “Anyway look it’s a stupid mad nasty mix. Its seven different types of Canid, Felidae, and analogous genotypes that could be one thing or another. And to make everything so much worse the virulence has been dialed up to one-thousand. It’s so potent it could infect on contact. And the worse thing which is kinda of funny the infection kills itself off in forty-eight hours.” She shrugged continuing on as she wasn’t interrupted. “All anyone really has to do is lock themselves up for forty-eight and ride it out. Its like someone hadn’t thought this through.”
As the M.E. rambled Bhas looked to Davis his eyes discerning if she was thinking along the same lines as him.
