It had taken longer than they meant but after another two rounds of bonding they had slept and it was a well needed and truly restful nap. When they had woken her first call was to her mother to tell her the plans then to the courthouse to get paperwork sent over to the licence would be brought to the place she had thought of to do this last minute. She had called Erick both inviting him and asking him to pull a string or two and once they were sorted there she called the last few people she needed.
Making an appointment with the vintage fashion dealer Samuel had introduced her to and one with the jeweller who he had admitted made the train pendant. He would go there to handle that after his stop at the clothier for his suit. They were like an army unit between them calling and setting up plans. He had called abel and a few other important people and now here she was with her mother and sisters looking for a dress.
They were confused by the rush but her grandmother had said it was about time and was excited. There was a rack of dresses and she had tried on about five but nothing seemed quite right to her so far. Either to tight to loose to low cut to high cut wrong color. Trying not to have a panic attack. staring at her daughter who was cooing softly around her rattle, this would be ok. She closed her eyes and let her hands drift finally landing on something beaded it was ivory and she smiled.
Pulling it off the rack it was stunning and she noded this felt right hopefully it fit. She looked at her mother and got the smile going to try it on and as soon as it slid over her ampler hips and zipped like butter she knew it was fate this was her dress. stepping out in the vintage low back lace creation. She smoothed it and s turned so they could see and heard her sister sniffle. trying not to let it start her up to. Taking that as a stamp of approval she showed the owner her choice and he nodded going to find her a pair of shoes and some accessories. When it was all done she looked stunning and vintage. Knowing she was about to knock his socks off truely.

The rumble of thunder woke them as they both napped adrift in a cocoon of bliss. Most at hearing the threat of a storm would see it as a bad omen. Samuel being in touch with the whole of his parts knew it for the good fortune it was. Its promise of continued life was not lost on him. Rising as one preparing to depart as if they were planning the president’s itinerary. Security both known and the loose circle he kept floating at a distance around the twins and Monica mobilized to insure there would be no mishaps.
While Monica saw to insuring locations and shopping on her part was done he and Abel led point on the security buffer. He had several choices in mind as for his ensemble. He doubled down on the three-piece vintage tuxedo. He hoped it would pair well with whatever he chose but was willing to trust in the serendipity of it all. As they moved from one location to the next he concluded the coded call he’d begun in the hotel room. The rings he’d picked out months ago before they left for Hawaii when he knew she was in fact pregnant. His plan though a bit differing meant more now especially as he in his heart of hearts knew or at least strongly suspected. The last call was to Mouse. A simple straight forward message.
As the man picked up, “You’re going to have a sister-in-law. Call me back in two days not before.” Ending the call before either swing of emotion could take place. Samuel was surprised with how much he’d grown in strength as he felt a wave of happy excited energy washed over him. He did his best to shield the local Pride members as it was far too close to the feel of midsummer for most to not respond poorly.
There were sore losers and sore winners, lions could be considered that and more. Even when happy if unchecked people died. He arrived at jeweler with enough time to spare. He picked up the parcel and two more smaller items. Still too large at this time but as important to him. Thankfully the man was a genius at his craft.
Security, suit, and rings obtained he made his way to city hall moments before the fleet of black cars and the Maserati SUV carrying his world arrived. Standing not on the steps of city hall but roughly one hundred and fifty feet from those often photographed stairs. He waited until Monica’s mother was helped from the back seat of the Maserati then he disappeared down the overlooked stairs to change. He was sure Monica would feel him near at hand but the others would be amazed.
The stipulations for the blindfolds would certainly help that. Having Abel be the one to deliver the news would ease everyone’s concerns some. And moments later after being helped down the stairs. The afternoon light catch every glint from the stained glass skylight lighting the chamber in its own surreal glow, the blindfolds were removed. He and the justice of the peace standing near the tracks edge waiting for Monica to step off the last step where she’d been directed to wait as her family and the twins were seated along the antechamber. Lit by the full rays of the sun she was a vision and enough to take breaths away.

:The wedding party is wearing sinsneversleep.proboards.com/thread/94/davis-banks-walker-wedding?page=1&scrollTo=1476 : She had gone to the dressing room and gotten into her gown, hair done in a vintage side part and waved faux bob. Her make up was brown shadows smokey eyes and a muted but beautiful brick red lip. Highlighter to her cheeks, scented with lilies and rose water. Nerves having her chest fluttering, taking a deep breath as she waited for everyone else to take their places. Holding the bouquet in her hands that Erick had handed her when he had arrived. He had smiled and kissed her cheek going to take his place. She had thought to ask her brother to walk her down the aisle but instead had decided to walk her self, her life with this man would be hers and she would begin it as such. Waiting mouthing a silent conversation to her father telling him all the things she would if he was here with her. Keeping her tears at bay. As the four-piece orchestral players started its version of water music air by Handel, she stepped into view with the light of the stained glass behind her giving her a glow and the colors falling along the ivory lace of her dress. She gazed at them all the most important to her that was close enough to be here. Nodding at her sister and mother and finally her Abuela giving her the biggest smile. Then carefully stepping down in, her delicate lace shoes. Her gaze finding him and blushing, walking slowly the dress rustling behind her its short train slighting over the floor. The music and her breathing was all she heard, no murmurs nothing else he was her focus. Looking so handsome in his suit, swallowing hard and breathing out. Her fingers trembling a tiny bit as the music closed and she reached him."Hi" She whispered softly at him, taking his hand handing off her flowers to her mother Who was holding Emme in her arm. As the justice of the peace spoke up she kept sneaking looks at him. " My dearest friends and family we are here for the purpose of forever, these two people have decided to step into the realm of joining their families and hearts. They have in good faith decided to express their love in front of you all so that their souls combine and it is beautiful." Turning to Monica" you both said you had words to share with each other would you like to go first?" Licking at her lip softly she nodded and finally for the first time since she had come in met his gaze" I didn't believe fae was a thing, I thought that we were in charge of our own destiny, I still think we make choices but at the same time we are given things by fate that we can accept or deny. If I hadn't worked late or missed the earlier train, who knows how long it would have taken to find you. Who knows if things would have gone as they have? I don't want to think of what would have happened and am just glad that I did. You have brought so many gifts into my life so many things I never knew I wanted and above all that you love me harder than I even love myself. I could not have picked better for myself and feel blessed waking up every day to find you there next to me. I was born to protect serve and do good for the world but also to be your wife" She sniffled softly managing to get the words in her heart out hearing some of the others openly crying. Waiting for him to speak she knew he might not say as much as she had but knew his heart.

The light cascading around her making apparent that she was his angel took his reath away. He was not a man moved to sentimentality in public. Nor was he a man who ore weakness in himself well. Yet she in this moment made him weak. She stole the life from him. And even as they had been miles removed during the course of their errands that they were so in tune as to have chosen so similarly. Perfectly embodying what they brought to their relationship. To their forever.
As she approached gliding as if some spectral vision the ceremony thrown together in less time than most would prepare a meal commenced in full. The justice of the peace an old hand and very much nearly in awe as Samuel beginning with Monica his Detective. Which if the twins overheard would be some story to tell. The eyes already moistened he looked into the sea of faces seeing only yeses no nay sayers no emotions save love. Clearing his throat taking her left hand into his left. Even here amongst friends family and loved ones he left her right free in case she might need draw down.
Meeting her eyes nodding as she concluded he said, “I regret very little in my life. Even the evil I have done over the very long road of hard decisions I have made. Again I through it all I regret very little. My greatest regret here in the now with you is not being able to speak as well as I would like.” Pausing he looked form Monica to the justice then back. “Even above the breath you steal with your radiance. The courage you have me doubt; unsure if I am or ever will be brave enough to bear the weight of your love or the love it stirs in me. I regret not being able to give life to the never ending effort I will apply to being worthy of that love.” Taking her hand to his lips he kissed the softness there continuing. “I regret not being able to describe the fullness to which I will never stop trying to earn the honor of being your true half. I stand here regretful of my ability to put into words before our family and friends how very much our family means to me. Regretful that the truest words I can speak is I will not fail. I will not relent in protecting our family. I will not fail nor falter in insuring that while I know I am unworthy of the journey we have shared; that I will earn that right, that honor, that joy every moment of everyday long beyond my last breath.”
He paused again looking to Abel nodding slowly and barley perceptible to anyone in attendance save perhaps Erick. Abel whispered under his breath and the twins brought forward as if by magic carried by her sister and mother each resting surprisingly child holding in their small fists a pillow upn which sat his and her ring.

Erick had gotten an excited frantic call this morning from his favorite detective and had hung up stunned. Shaking his head he looked for his good mocha brown suit and ivory vest. Of course, these two would have an elopment of sorts in the city why not was on brand for them for sure. He had gone down to the shop and looked through the cooler, Gathering stargazer lilies in cream shades and fluffy jade mums. Rounding it out with a few peppermint stripe roses and pale yellow chrysanthemums. Wrapping them all artfully in white lace and tied with a pearl edged ribbon. A few lapel flowers cut and stuck into water vials and off he went to the location he was sent.
Arriving he had one arm hugged Samuel and handed off the flower for his lapel, Sticking one in his own and then handing one off to Monica's brother. Taking a seat after finding Monica kissing her cheek and giving her the flowers" good luck darling you look amazing"
Sitting down he listened to the music and watched her walk down and then the words they both spoke had him dabbing at his eyes it was then he noticed something odd. Out of the corner of his mind's eye, there were another st of eyes looking back at him. Blinking they were over Monica and looked fairly familiar. He head tilted and filed it away it was strange but this was not the time for that. AS his gaze swept the gathered people he caught one that was different from the others. A large broad shouldered Puerto Rican man in a uniform. He was well decorated and standing close to Monica's mother hand on her shoulder watching the woman with pride in his gaze. A brow raised it clicked who he was seeing.
As the rings were exchanged the man came toward him and stopped to whisper" please sir I know and feel you can hear me tell my daughter, I love her and was here to see her today. I have to go back but am always watching over her"
He walked towards the stair monica had come in through and was gone. Erick felt choked up but nodded to him self.

He killed her yep she had tried so hard to not full out cry but halfway through his words, she was sniffling. Feeling so soft and overly female right then blaming it on hormones. Yep, she would tell anyone who asked it was postpartum emotional weakness. Tho in her heart she knew he was just saying what she loved hearing. Mo9nica knew he meant every word of it. Looking at her babies she laughed softly they were so beautiful in their fancy clothes.
Covering her mouth and chuckling she noticed the rings Then as the justice look at Samuel and nod" Take the ring which we use to symbolize the unbroken line of time and the infinity of love and place it on her finger then repeat after me..I Samuel Banks-Walker do take you, Monica Davis for all the rest of my days to be unparted even by death"
As he put the ring on her finger and her hand trembled, she waited and then repeated putting the ring to his finger" I Monica Davis Do take you Samuel Banks-Walker for all the rest of my days to be unparted even by death"
Pushing it all the way down till it was settled. Breath was blown out then looking to justice who smiled" With the exchanging of promises vows and rings you are wed it is my utmost pleasure to announce you with the state of New York as my patron husband and wife. You may kiss each other sealing the pact"
Leaning into him lips offered and remembering to be at least a little chaste since they had everyone's eyes on them. taking his kisses and gripping him as the gathered party erupted into hoots and whistles. Her sister shouted, " get a room!"
She laughed and turned to face them taking the flowers back and as the music started a faster recessional tune they walked hand in hand out to be followed by her mother and sister carrying the twins and Abel pulling up the rear. they would get back into the cars and head to Tavern who had been reserved for their party with a back room. Before she could get in the car tho Erick snagged her giving Samuel an apologetic look and whispering in her ear. She looked at him in shock and blinked a few times but then nodded kissing his cheek and headed for the car.
They would have a little time alone on the ride to the restaurant. When it was just her and her now husband she looked at him stunned and sniffled" I ..can't believe we pulled that off. I love you, Um Erick said my dad was there and told him to tell me he loved me and had come to watch over me today and seemed happy."

“If I didn’t know you, I would have found it incredulous. My sweet Detective.” Bringing her hand to his lips once more.” He began once they had the solace of the drive. “And yes.” He tried to mitigate some of the pain of that aspect. She was a very gifted psychic and he wondered how it would affect her transition. Her father he knew was a bitter sweet subject. "You are magical, and it draws such thigs to you. The impossible. The undreamt and those that love you extraordinarily."
Moving in his seat he kissed her long and hard far less chaste than their shared moment at their wedding. Pulling away reluctantly he said, “This is our new now and forever.”

It seemed they beat the couple to their impromptu reception supper which was fine he had time to decorate the tables better with help from the family.
Settling finally and giving in to the urges to think. He had seen eyes over monica something coming to be. She also had smelled diffrent when they embraced and he had earlier thought it just Samuels scent. Mulling it he was able to pull what indeed was her mates scent aside and realize.
The thought floored him, dang. His mind went to the babes some delayed infection that had waited past their birth. It was possible, he figured maybe this was the rush. Like a terminal patient setting affairs in order.
He would keep their confidence and wait till it was sure. Putting on a smile as they arrived to cheering and applause.

His kisses had her afloat and h8s words soothed. She snuggled up with him in the car and just breathed. Their much more passionate embrace lead to their driver circling central park once more to give them time.
As they finally arrived and the man cleared his throat carefully as not to offend. Monica laughed thanked him and let Samuel help her out. Heels clicking the pavers and in they went the current owner kissing cheeks and ushering them to the large private dinning space.
The smiles cheers and congratulations hit like a wall taking her aback. Then she went for her babies who she hadn't been without scince they were born. Kisses rained on their tiny upturned faces. She was ecstatic but in her deepest thoughts she worried.
Nothing this good ever lasted long for them they were due a bad turn. She hoped for the best but would plan for worse.

Mind already working the small vacation of happiness worked wonders on him. While methodical in his singularity and as fierce as a battalion of lions Samuel was now in the inevitable position of making some hard life decisions. He’d always knew his long road had a shelf life. One that he’d pushed off for as long as he could. He’d planned on perhaps another decade operating at the level he’d clawed for. That was now truncates at best. Van, Emme, Monica they deserved his best divorces of his worst.
So with no doubt in his mind he knew the Exauda needed to be passed along. It’s nebulous strings throughout the world needed cutting. He needed a person to hand the reins over to. A shadow that could fill his space and distract a shield. He’d groomed Abel but the man was nearly as long in tooth as he.
Placing those thoughts out of his head he held Monica until they stepped out of the car to the welcoming hurrahs of family already begun the repast. Leaning into Monica he said, “In case we don’t get a chance to say it due the partying...I love you.”
