Jessie had a hard time when she first arrived to the city. Unable to find a place of her own she managed to find a cheap hotel to stay at in Brooklyn. Okay, cheap was an understatement. Fifty bucks a night, two fifty a week. Its a lot of money but in New York, its chump change. She was happy that she managed to save up a decent amount of money from her odd jobs but she knew it wasn't going to last and she really needed to find herself an apartment. She wanted to start fresh and that meant you need to plant your ass and root yourself. She was in need of a job and although her ideal was to work in a bar as a tender, she needed anything at the moment. She was happier then a kid on Christmas when the temp agency called her in for a job. With an address given she was told to come and pick up a truck and head to a flower shop. Didn't sound like to hard of a job and even if it was, she was a hard worker, so she did as she was told with no problem. She was given a delivery hat to wear, which she did with her pair pulled through the back in a pony tail. Tight jeans covered her lower body while her upper wore a black tight tank with a black jacket over it, the type with the fake fur around the collar. Her feet were covered in knee high black leather boots that carried her into the shop as she looked around quietly.

Erick ever the professional knew the delivery was due and it was a small bit late. That didn't phase him so much as he knew it was still prime holiday season and people were still delayed in some regards. So he was in the back tallying what would need to be placed off the truck when he heard the door. Normally he wouldn't have been snuck up on but the smell of the flowers he'd gotten this morning covered almost everything in the store with a riot of smells.
As he stepped out all deeply tanned tatted muscle contained in deep green polo and black dockers, he was calling out to Devin his normal driver" Jeeze Devin man I'm almost out of vases you think you could cut it any..."
His thick Irish brogue stuttered to a halt as he took in the petite but immeasurably curvy being in front of him. Two things happened at once he felt his pulse speed because she was stunning and then he smelled wolf and tried hard not to roar as the instinct for how wolves had behaved toward him as of late raised alarm" yer na Devin who the hell are ye?"
He knew that was probably rude as hell and his mother would have cuffed him hard for speaking to a lady so but when the local wolves were drug dealers and had tried to push him out of his place there was no love lost. Tho that wasn't to mean every wolf he met was part of the pack..but most times rouges were found and made to join or chased away quick.

As she stood there waiting, she moved to a bunch of lilies and leaned down to take in the smell with a smile. That set her own scent off to smell the man as he entered the room or what he was for that matter. In truth, she herself hadn't met many others of her kind or any for that matter. Only the MC she met back in Colorado. They were wolves and for a moment she thought they were her pack but no Dante in site so she moved on after a few weeks there. Other then that encounter she had tried to stay hidden and away from others.
When she heard the mans voice she jumped and turned to face him. She was about to respond and say she wasn't Devin when she saw him and it was then that her breath caught. Holy hell he was big, and gorgeous. Okay, not was she was expecting at all when walking into a florist shop. She smiled at first but then heard his tone change and the way he spoke to her and her nose scrunched a bit as she looked at him.
"I'm sorry. I guess Devin called out. The temp agency sent me to take his shift. I'm Yesenia. Yesenia Sanchez. Its all right here." She held out a clipboard with all the paperwork he would need on it, both from his delivery and from the agency. It was obvious on her features that she didn't understand the hostility but she stood her ground still. "I am sure you weren't expecting someone new but, I am what you got."

Facepalmed he sighed deeply" aye lass Im a right arse for tha and I am sorry but .. well no but.. I am sorry. The local wolves do na have a good rep jus fair warning and most of them are on the police's radar. I am surprised that it's not my normal driver but in the scheme of things this isn't so bad"
He tried to soften his earlier gruffness with a smile tho lopsided as it was. Coming forward to sign the slip they had a standing account for him and would be paid at the end of the months minus any broken or lost items. Which rarely but still happened. He went with her to the door to start carting things in. Normally he'd have tried to maintain the ruse of humanity but most now knew who and what he was. So he hefted two of the larger crates off the truck arms bulging tight against the polo sleeves like they weighed near nothing.
In his head tho he was building her a bouquet as an apology and knew which blooms hed choose and which colors. Grinning to himself as he kept close site of her." do ye drive other trucks then?"

She was surprised by the change in his demeanor so quickly, but she was happy she didn't need to feel like she needed to stand guard. When she noticed he knew what she was, as he spoke, she then took in his scent. She was still new to all of this but she was able to get a sense and a scent of what he himself was. Hearing about the other wolves she nodded softly. "Well, I assure you, I do not know any of the other wolves. I just got back into town myself and other then the people at the bodega, the hotel, and the temp agency, you are the first person I have even spoken to." She smiled softly. "No need for an apology. I can understand the concern." She smiled once more when he said it wasn't so bad.
That lopsided smile made her bite her lower lip to hold back a giggle. She watched him as he signed the slip and took it back before walking with him to the truck. Once there she put the clipboard in the truck and watched him as he unloaded it. Of course her eyes were drawn to his muscles, she would have to be dead not to notice them rippling, but she also looked at his face. "Need any help?"
Hearing his question she nodded softly as she slid her hands into the back pockets of her jeans. "Yeah. Its a skill of mine. Helped me save some good money for a while when I was in need. Drove local trucks for a while with a few cross state gigs. Guess that skill got me this job." She smiled to him once more.

He wasn't going to put his foot in his mouth again and tell her he didn't want her to lift anything. He knew as she was like him that she could handle anything on the truck with ease so instead " aye iffin ye feel like getting out o the cold a bit sooner then grab a box. Most of it is fragile but ye'll na hurt it"
Listening to her answer" well then yer braver then most New York driving can be heart stopping.. Is that what ye want to be doin tho?"
Somehow he didn't think temp work was what anyone really liked doing maybe he could help her out and by virtue keep her away from the bad element. Something about her he just didn't want to have to stop talking to her or worse be angry at her. His bear at current was sitting calmly and showing off for her even if she couldn't see it directly. Thinking on what she said about who shed met. So she was in a hotel that was another way he could be of use maybe but first the boxes.
Grabbing another two the last of the bigger ones and placing them in the back. He couldn't help but glance over occasionally as together they made quick work of his bi-weekly delivery.

She smiled and nodded to him before moving to the truck and grabbing a box for him. She followed him inside as she listened to him talk. Hearing his questions she shook her head even though she was behind him. "Not really. I'm used to driving in the city but I actually like bar tending. Unfortunately even if I find a place thats hiring its only ever for a few nights a week so I need something more stable and will see if I can find a bar willing to hire me at night. So for now, the temp agency is what I have and I will take whatever they offer." She would place the box where needed before following him back to the truck to grab some more.

" there are vampire run bars all over the place they would need night help to be sure. Let me see if I can find a number for someone who might be needin help. I do a lot of arrangements for places bars are one of them"
She hadn't asked for his help but as a leader of a group the other bears looked to him for help and he was used to fixing things so to speak. The last box in he shut the front door so the shop got warm again. Then he set out a vase smallish clear glass. Looking around and drawn to the purple stargazer lilies, surrounding them with orange chrysanthemums. Mixing in white and yellow daisies and babies breath. wrapping the whole thing silver snowflake swirled cellophane with a purple ribbon.
Turning his attention to her" so shall I get the number then?"

She smiled and nodded to him. "Thanks. That would be great. I really appreciate the help." She ran her hands up and down her arms a bit once they were done and inside the shop as she watched him. He was really easy on the eyes so she didn't mind watching him at all. She couldn't help but to laugh softly. "You are a very large man to be working with such delicate things. I never would have thought you were a florist if I would have seen you in the streets. I guess that whole "don't judge a book by it's cover" thing is true after all." She smiled to him as she moved a bit closer, admiring the lilies as he seemed to be putting together an order. At least that is what she assumed. Looking back to him she smiled and nodded softly. "Yes please."

As she moved closer his bear rumbled pleased. Mentally he elbowed his bear, and then laughed deeply when she mentioned perceptions." aye most don't but as a bear, I love nature and have always enjoyed gardening and flowers. I'm big because my da was big and all my brothers are so I got my arse beat till I was big enough to put them on their rear. So while I know how to be delicate. I can be a fair brute too"
Winking at her over that, he was rusty at flirtation and almost to much a bumbling buffoon to be considered suave. He went to the back and used a no lie rolladex on his desk to flip through coming to the one" yeah here it is Fraunces Tavern. The oldest run vampire bar in New York and a pretty classy place. They order from me at least once a month for different events and owe me a favor for a rush easter order from last spring"
transferring the number over to a sticky note under the address and spelling. He also snuck his number and a little bear doodle on there as well. Handing it over to her he walked her back to the front" well tha ones incase you need to call me for anything like a tour guide or something"
Then picking up the whole vase no water in it but the flowers still inside. He held them out to her" welcome to New York ..again"

She arched a brow softly and smirked as she moved closer. She listened to him and she laughed softly. "Well a man that is both delicate and hard is a rare find. A good find, just rare." She smiled when he winked and she even gave him a flirty wink in return. Hearing him as he looked for the number she looked around the shop. "How do vampires react to wolves there? I have heard mixed stories." He might be able to tell she wasn't used to being around other creatures. Hell he might be able to tell she was just a "pup". She took the paper and looked at it and laughed softly. "Love the bear." She looked to his eyes and she smiled and nodded softly. "A tour guide? Hmm. I might take you up on that." She smiled before he handed her the face and she smiled even more. "For me? Thank you." She bit her lower lip and took the vase from him. "Well, it was nice meeting you, Erick is it?" He never said his name but she remembered from the work sheet and the number he just gave her. "Maybe I will see you around." She winked to him once more before she turned to make her way out of the shop.

" Well since some of them can call and control wolf they are fine with them the movies make us seem at odds but its na the same. You would be ok"
He could tell she was newer but he was ok with that He was pleased that she was pleased with the flowers. That again had his bear rolling on its back happily. It was a weirdo to be sure. He'd have never guessed for a wolf he always thought hed find a lady bear but a pretty woman was a pretty woman and this one was more than that" crap I didna tell ye my name? Im a horror ye Im Erick Kelly of Kelly blooms and I'd like tha"
Walking her to the door he couldn't help himself watching away all naturally swaying soft curves. It was going to be a long day but bless Devin for calling out.
