“If I were to guess I think it just might have worked better than she thought.” He chimed in the obvious leap he refused himself. He instead bit down on a mouth of food and willed him to change tactics some. “Its still a mess out there and probably will be until we move you.” He chewed an mused. “Omni is it the same one you were in last night? If so it might have been smart to book for the long haul.” He shrugged hindsight and all.

If looks could kill her partner would have dropped dead. He was getting irksome as hell with his behavior. She knew he was goibg through something but this was a bit much. She did her best not to tear him a new ass and closed her plate now not hungry.
Looking at them both she sighed" yes it was almost to good but its better than the alternative and my liason to the shifter world was a good help in this case with the planning. Hes also the same person that offered support and safety to our hero but no they didn't stay at the omni it was nicer. Since you just that darn curious but if I need to hes nice enough hed probably help again because he doesn't like the drugs coming in either but isnt outted so he can't tie him self directly. Im sure you understand the need for keeping the identity safe dont you?..as an officer of the law anonymity in some cases is nesscary "
She said it poligt as punch but the undertone was definitely go eff yourself partner.

He ate and hummed until Moni began speaking. He hadn’t known anything was off book or else he wouldn’t have chimed in. Yes, he’d been angry earlier but his moods were theses days mercurial not focused or patient enough to try an end around. He’d spoken what he knew not in an effort to stir trouble or pick at a bone or three but it was obvious he had again hit a bone of contention. His head ell over as he listened to not only what was being said but how it was being said. Including the fact that it was forced and clipped nice as pie but lone laced with arsenic. He stopped eating closed his meal nodded yes and fought the urge to ask or pry.
He smiled once she concluded and sat his meal on the table. He wiped his hands and dabbed his mouth with the napkins from the bag. Looking to Erick then back to Moni. "Excuse me for a second, will you?" he stood and left the table, the floor, and the building. He wasn’t sure how he’d screwed the pooch but he needed to fix it and couldn’t do that here. He need to figure it out before any other earthquakes opened beneath him and swallowed everything whole.

She bit her lip and tried to think if anything else to say. Scrubbing her face she went quiet and watched soccer wondering if it was worth it. Being a cop any more ahe hoped like heck samuels say was going better

Erick looked at the detective he didn't know how to say it but he didnt think her partner had intended to really come right back. His biggest clue was the gaurdian ancestor type spirit that had showed up for Matt it was deessed in old planration style clothing short rough pants simple cloth shirt. Ut gad tried to halt his leaving and left with him chasing shouting to ni5t be stupid.
He groaned " yer nae gonna fund him but might still need ta look hes going and probably gonna wind up where ever us troubling him most right now"
He stood gathered hus things and finished his meal." If theyre putting me up fir the night us rather fo now stead if sitting here bored outta my mind "

He drove faster than he should. He drove faster than what was legally allowed. He normally was a law-abiding citizen. Yet his mind reeled and he did his best to not give it enough room to really get going. No such luck. He’d already had some ideas but he hadn’t expressed them sadly by not expressing them he had dug a hole with his partner. She as a cowboy. That he could live with. She was guarding something. That he could live with. He had made his peace and hadn’t pried or at least he tried not to yet there was a lodestone weighing them down. And he supposed that was him. Part and parcel of the problem was the fact he simply was.
She didn’t need a partner. He however did. He was built to be part of a tag-team. He’d excelled at UC work because he considered the whole of the department his tag partner. Now however this while intriguing and insightful was simply not the beat he’d though it would be. He was having a crisis of faith due what was going on his life and the edges of it were spilling over. Skidding to a stop at the ferry he got out and walked the pier. The next ferry wasn’t for five hours but he could admire the city he called home as he tried to clear his thoughts.
He knew what he had to do. Or at least what his heart was telling him to do. He couldn’t let an innocent be caught up with the dark world that was his beat. No but he also couldn’t walk his beat without letting that darkness inhabit his world. At least not effectively. Reweighing his options he came up with a plan and one that would take some work but he knew he could sell. Tomorrow, he thought.
Taking out his phone he swiped it open hitting Detective Davis’ name. Composing a quick text ‘Clearing head. Tomorrow.’ He slipped his phone away sliding behind the wheel and reaching into the stash box removing the burner he kept there. Exhaling deeply, he closed and opened his eyes as he did preparing for what he was to do.
