It’d taken them longer than he’d have expected to give him a resounding no. It made him sad. It meant for as much of the world knew they weren’t the powers that be at Aero he was hoping that was not the case and he could try to end this now in one fell swoop. He hated being wrong and his frustrations while clear could be misconstrued with disappointment. Looking at his watch he stood offered a handshake to each of them and left. There were already a full contingent of men watching each of the partners so he would know their every move and soon would have another linchpin with which to destroy them outright soon enough. Checking his phone he saw that as he’d distracted them Abel had been able to execute the contracts and other maneuvers that would leave them alone at least as far as the other contractors and shipping organizations. Their money was curtailed not stopped.
Stepping into the car he had his driver take him to the subway it was better to get lost within the population at large before he met back up with Abel to deal with their wolves. Could never be too cautious. Exiting the train he stepped into a car that was waiting in midtown from their he went directly to the safehouse where he had the men rendezvous. He took the suitcase offered him and entered Abel was standing watch though the men would believe he was their watching with them keeping them safe. He smiled handed the suitcase to Abel. He spoke with them about what their plans were. Neither realized that this was the last chance they had to leave the building. They unfortunately had the plans he'd hoped they wouldn’t they would go back to their neighborhoods lay low and continue with their lives.
“Well gentleman that sounds…” Moving o Abel who’d opened the briefcase he retrieved the forty-five inside and fired in one spin. The rounds were designed to shatter on impact the silver nitrate at the core would hit their bloodstream faster and the caliber was enough to knock them end over end at this range. Once down he fired twice more sending the shells into both of their brainpans before their wolves had a chance to respond. He and Abel closed the case soaked both bodies in kerosene then gasoline. The double dosing was so that the bodies would burn faster and hotter leaving very little behind. They then tracked the gas back to the front door and sent the building up. The safe house being well within the known Silver Moons territory would make most police and fire believe this was a drug house and they simply users caught doing something horrible.
As in most things the best way to hide something was right under everyone’s nose. Glancing at his watch as they drove away he saw that he had just enough time to actually call Monica before going silent as he got his brothers people settled in. Abel had a place picked out off the beaten path. Secure and secluded enough no one would question any comings and goings.
He sent a text first alerting her, ‘You have a moment?’

She felt the vibration and almost laughed the subject of strife. " give me a min to get to the ladies I've got a stalker today"
She was just ahead of Matt she knew so the timing was hilarious she winked at her partner like giving him a " texting my boo " signal.
Then slipping to bathroom she found a quiet stall at the end and dialed" so...hope your day better than mine"

"I believe it might just be. I have locked Aero into a path and am following up with other resources shortly. Did our plan work is our friend safely in the public eye?" He wanted ask how was her day but knew to not. She was still 'at work' and as quiet as she was being meant she really could not talk.
She was precious to him and her job was important to her. As such he would do his best to help her protect it. He knew soon they would need to make a choice between his world and hers. He wouldn't rush that moment.
Sooner than either wished it would be on them. The moment would come soon starting with her partner having to make that choice. The more people they let in the more that moment rushed towards them.
He sighed thinking of the coming war. He expected three maybe four weeks and at least one of their problems would be solved. He knew that she had already begun moving on the Silver moons. He still as of yet had not fond how they dovetailed with aero but he would.
Listening to her breathe he relaxed some just sharing this moment with her. What came next would have him lay bare how monstrous he really was. He would bathe in blood amd lead a hunt against their enies and their allies.
The murder rate would grow exponentially.

Oh yes he's sort of enjoying his celebrity the mayor is sitting in a man to man way. I can see the starlight in his eyes with helping the poor hero out"
It's left a bitter flavor in her mouth" then um.. had a slight issue today with someone noticing my going off the radar and text messages 8ve handled it for now but we need to talk because I have a feeling it's just a ban aid on a broken wrist"

He sighed it would be all sorts of problems and as much as he tried to he was already constructing ways to protect what he and Monica had. He had due his resources knew which of the department in her precinct was on the take. The others that turned a blind eye and which had ties to the preternatural. There were out of the one-hundred ninety-five officers in her precinct one-hundred and ten that were compromised. Sadly and beneficially her partner was not one of the compromised. But as she’d said someone he knew she was protecting the person. As far as he knew that someone had to either be her partner or someone directly in her department.
“I am sure he is. Most of the public opinion is determined on what it looks like not what it is."
He was stalling he’d done that a lot lately. It was now not for wish of doing elsewise but to preserve this moment as long as he could. “We will reset the wrist with as minimal pain as possible but no matter what it will be painful.”

He'd caught on and she was worried but glad " I know but I got blind sided and went with the least damage for the moment. Anyway I better go before he sends another female cop in here to check on me after our chat"
He would practically hear the eyeroll in her voice. Deep sigh" plus there was this anti preturnatual protesters bitch she spit in my face and I couldn't even belt her one..man its been a day..love your face"
She waited a tick to see if he responded but after she'd need to hang up.

He almost said the woman’s name as she said someone spit in her face. Berenice was going to have a visit. She was the local point person for that particular deranged set of antipreternatural zealots. A roar rumbled in his chest as he listened and bit his own tongue. " He cares for you. I know how much he is missing. Be safe. I…lo will call you once I have my next few appointments settled."
He listened to her breathe and smiled knowing how close he came to unburdening himself. No one else could ever have him that relaxed or open. She was truly a gem and special to him. He tapped his driver there would be a detour. Abel was across town wrapping up a few other errands. Namely setting up lodging for their guest. The main stay and HQ was already ready to go but he also needed boltholes for if things went awry and medical accommodations.

She laughed "I suppose that's how it is he's great and all but someone else has my heart..till later then"
She hung up and actually used the ladies then washed hands and face before heading out. She took the stack of files on aero and the accounts to Matt's desk split it in half from where she'd been working then slid them over" forensic accounting is tracing already but we need to get to the cash behind the cash"

He listened to her laugh and for a small while he was at ease. "Thank you. Be safe my Detective."
He ended the call as she did. Looking at his phone he waited until they reached the next stop light. There he gave the address to Berenice’s abode. He remained silent watching the city pass. When they arrived it took fifteen minutes to catch sight of her and insure she was alone.
Moving between buildings he found access to the roof. From there it was a short drop onto her fire escape and in. She was busy puttering in the kitchen so she didn’t hear him. Not that she would have either way. He was years from active practice but his cat-burglary skills were not rusty enough that this hate filled woman would ever know.
As she rounded the corner He waited a few beats before pouncing. He knocked the tray from her hand pinning her to the wall with his other. As she struggled to catch her breath he flung her across the room into her TV tray. Before she had a moment to right herself he removed the Taser he’d taken from her table and a kerchief.
She was furious and rose up knowing it would be ineffective. So she did what she had a penchant to do. AS she hocked up to spew he waited just long enough for her to not be able to sswallow her spittle back and as she prepared her salivary missile he threw the kerchief over her face and tazed her through it.
Once she was done convulsing and wetting herself he smacked her conscious. Careful to insure she didn’t leave any lasting marks. Once her eyes rolled normal he met her eyes allowing his to shift. She was foolish and her weapon of choice was hate and spit. So she hocked he waited and repeated the process until she was afraid to even dry swallow.
Once she’d learned her lesson he smiled. “If you mention this to anyone I will be back. If you spit even accidentally on another person in uniform I will be back.” Then he left. And made his way to the airport.

Matt saw Moni coming and ended his call. He hated talking with family during his work day and any excuse was always a blessing. He was areful to not slam down the receiver though he really felt the urge. His cousin had gotten involved with abad crowd and now his aunt was hoping he would be able to help. Shaking his head he leane back in his chair as Moni began to parse work. Catching sight of one of the folders he waited until she was done and nodded moving right to the one that stood out. It was partner of one of the investors for Mount Sinai of Brookyln. He only knew as he was there at the groundbreaking for the new wing and parking lot. He was still on UC and had been chasing a dealer who was trying to go straight on the surface she’d been not only washing her money but cleaning it by running it through several investment firms. The gal had even gone so far as to legitimize her street soldiers by opening a security firm.
He didn’t bother looking over the particulars of the investment firm he knew they were getting their initial capitol illegally. They however were really good no really great at hiding the sources of their capitol streams and confusing dirty money with clean in a way that was well within the legally provable range. He sighed “Hey Moni this one here this is the one. This is the lynchpin.” He slid the folder to her. He knew there were definitely others but this was the crème de la crème of the this bumper crop

She noticed him hang up and tried not to read him. Then he called her attention to the one folder and she picked it up looking at the name. Nodding she typed something into his desktop and the tree the money guys had going already popped up. She typed in the file number and all the info in it was filtered in. Things on the tree lit up.
Known associates repetitions loose ties to be filled in later. It was less like a tree more like a Web after the import" notice a pattern or commonly used resource?"

He watched her work and focused on the screen it wasn’t long until a graph popped up. It was a maze with dead ends and cutoffs. He hated the trace work of forensic accounting. But at least they had made it easy for anyone to follow this time. There were threads of links that went several inches and others that overlapped but there were six clearly visible hubs if you would where threads intersected. He cross-referenced those hubs on his phone. Each was a national corporate entity. Each was on the surface legitimate. Or at least the way it looked until the seventh made itself apparent. All of the goods were through a local based company AeroTransport Incorporated. Aero had investigations going back ten years each dropped for lack of evidence.
He smirked as a thought came to him. “Partner of mine that is some amazing work just getting this far but heres the question how do we keep this case? Where is the Preternatural run through that would give us precedence? God knows I don’t mind helping other departments but without a preternatural tie we are out as soon as one of the bigwigs get wind of this." He knew Major Crimes could use a win, there was the Port authority that would be all over this . Not too mention Narco and Vice. God at this point Financial cries had a bite and not to forget the Feds might want to get involved and the Feebies were horrible at playing well with others.

She sighed" that's the kicker..gimme a sec "
Thinking she pulled up the known shifter database same one he'd used for erick. Cross reference setting to the links they had she set it to search and waited..nothing at first but then she added aliases and the screen lit up with no less then five shifter employees or ties to the links they wanted." Boom got them and we might not get to completely keep it but because of that they can't kick us off it"
She grinned some

He smiled as she ran the database. He hadn’t expected an real result it was thin but it would do as long as they could play the shell game. He crossed the databases bringing up priors that fith the men and women’s description. He brought back nothing offensive enough to warrant a death-warrant in New York but prosecutable all the same. He sent everything to the out of date printer. "Its thin Moni but it will have to do. But how about you use your contacts and reach out to the Master of the City and get him involved in all this. If we can’t get this done above board we can get it just below the surface."

" master of new Orleans mat never met the master of new York but I guess it can't hurt to try since aero was in new Orleans in that ship yard during the.."
She didn't finish it was still a memory she woke up from gasping some of the time. Never sleeping next to Samuel but always when she slept alone at home. Something about his aura kept the dream at bay like even it was scared of the militis.
She pulled out his card and dialed waiting to leave a message" hey I know this is strange but there was a ship in port during my visit based out of New York and they are tied heavily to the trade and might even make regular trips down there. If you could call me back that would be great "
Hanging up she shrugged to wait.
