Monica:
June 7, 2014
Off for the evening, and just a bit tired. Ipod playing her favorite mix, but always aware of her surroundings as the seat she sank into cradled her body. Monica glanced around the car, nodding politely to an older grandmotherly lady a few seats down and noticed a college age boy with his feet up and a thick text book in his lap. That made her smile, she remembered those days at college then the academy, late nights of cramming for the next test. Couldn't pay her to do it again that's for dang sure. A soft yawn she barely caught to cover, slipped free of her lips and she pinched her self on the wrist to try and wake up.
It would be a half hour ride with the stops home to her place with this train then a transfer, but way longer if she some how missed her stop and it had happened a year or more ago shed gone to the end of the line after a stake out for three days. She dug into her back looking for a red-bull and popped and chugged it fast, stowing the empty back in the bag. Low shiver as the pseudo energy drink kicked in, eyes now snapping open. Sitting up straighter she went into her bag again this pocket was different it was her sketch pad. Flipping to a clean page and starting her idea for an up coming con, a version of storm and cat woman mixed. She would have to start sewing soon, if she was going to get it done. Sketching the slashes in the leather pants that would be a color between blue and black with a bit of piping at the seams. A cape and cat mask with a sort of crown, it would have to be the perfect balance between both of Hallie berry's characters.
Her heels had been switched for chuck's and the toe wiggled while she worked listening as the stops went by and eventually the young man left and a few slightly drunk wanna be harijuku girls got on giggling. Keeping an eye on the girls, drunk girls were prey items in the wrong situation. Her inner cop made her put the pad away in case checking that her badge was still on her hip under the loose deep blue blouse. Then her hand went to her other hip and her off duty piece a small fire-star on a hip holster threaded through the belt on her charcoal dress pants. Tucking her hair behind her ear, licking at her top lip quickly trying to ease that inner eye.

Samuel entered the fairly empty train from the last car. He rarely allowed himself to be physically involved with couriers of any sort. This was a special case as while these women believed they were carrying valuables hidden amongst their panda bags and garish costume they were merely bait. This route had been hit several times as such he wanted to personally see to capturing and deterring further predations. He’d learned long ago that the devil was in the details. He could not allow something as seemingly inconsequential as this route to be impeded. He would not tolerate it. Even as Abel suggested otherwise Samuel decided to take this small matter personally. It was indicative of perhaps bigger issues. Dressed as he was he would blend in perfectly with the after work crowd heading home. So he with newspaper in hand made his way to the women’s car taking a rear seat. Skimming the paper he also skimmed the gathered crowd of travelers. No one stood out but a professional wouldn’t. He smirked to himself as he watched the train all the while seemingly engrossed in the days happenings that were worth printing.
Taking out a pen he flipped to the crossword. He’d save the Sudoku for the ride home. Moving along word after word he spotted the homeless man watching the train. His disguise was nearly perfect save his hair was clean and the soles of his shoes were unscuffed. Either one would not have normally been cause for concern. Both together meant that he was not as homeless as he seemed to the casual eye. The harajuku route was chosen because in their garish outfits they became virtually invisible. The cops the crooks and even most commuters merely ignored them as if they were carriers of some strange disease. It made them perfect couriers normally. It was why within the city they were used to ferry the odd but somewhat valuable smaller items. This shipment was a pseudo steroidal compound that would give the benefits of steroids and growth hormone without being able to be detected by normal testing.
The major component of the cocktail’s invisibility was that it each virus like blend was created from each individual athlete’s genetics wrapped in a heaping dose of their own personal blend of various strains of pathogens. It was a tailored expensive bit of game rigging and almost completely useless in the anothers hands. Yet someone had been targeting the various routes this one in particular. Samuel new from the whispers that the source behind it was probably the baseball commissioner’s office who had been trying to root out graft within the game. The hijackers were merely tools and tools Samuel had every intention of taking off the table.
Sighing and feigning olfactory pain from being in such close proximity to the homeless man Samuel moved his seat closer to the couriers who were blithely oblivious to their surroundings. This inadvertently placed him closer to the young woman who to his surprise was busily watching the girls and their surroundings as well. He looked her over all the while pretending to merely be an overly curious potentially amorous businessman. He nearly blurted out an expletive as he caught her draw. She hadn’t cleared holster but she definitely seemed to have the steel to do so. He quickly sized up the situation; no she wasn’t with the homeless man. She was something far worse she was a cop. Which mean that mister homeless had other accomplices near at hand. Samuel frowned as if he was caught on a word as he spotted one who fit the bill then another. The car which was a good deal far more empty than he would have liked was stock full with dramatis personae in this little tragicomedy.
Turning to the young cop he said, “Excuse me miss,” while extending his paper towards her pointing at the gentleman who looked as if he were a bike messenger whose bag was weighted with roughly ten pounds of metal even as he was supposedly off duty with no bike in sight. “Would you happen to have an idea what this could be.” He’d spelled out A M B U S H and nodded towards the girls and women speaking a polyglot of English and Japanese oblivious to what was preparing to happen. They were two stops from a decently long stretch of track where the train would be mostly dark. That meant that whatever was going to happen was going to happen soon.

Monica noticed the suited man and then, wondered when the messenger came in. He must have slipped in when she was watching the one almost brain hauntingly giggliest of the girls lean on her friends for one of the fifty zillion's of times since she got on as the train rocked. Those heels had to be a problem if she needed to run, almost wanting to shake her head. Then peeking over at the well dressed man again and head tilting checking him out as he seemed to do the same to her. When he spoke to her, she was actually a bit taken off guard. His voice was deep and almost fatherly, so it took her a moment to notice he was showing her something and when she looked it was only with well practiced cop face that she didn't show alarm.
Giving him a hand signal behind the paper making it look like she was just pointing something out on the paper to the casual observer. She understood and then realized that not only was her danger sense going off her preternatural sense was. Looking at him clearly in the eye and wondering what flavor he was but knowing it wouldn't matter much till after. What mattered now was getting the innocent old lady and the girls off the train unscathed. Thinking for a moment, the old woman would be easiest but if she started clearing people out what ever was planned might start getting accelerated out of desperation.
She knew and had met a lot of homeless people on her beat in the early days so Monica had already picked out the homeless man as either recently homeless or a plant. So she stood and approached him, nudging his foot with her own. "Sir, you've been here for a while and we are almost at the stop for a really good over night shelter, I think it would be best if you got off and got a place for the night the train is not safe past a certain hour."
Waiting for a response because something told her he wouldn't just take her advice, and might even question just who the hell she was. Monica didn't want to give away her hand to early because if things went south you could only shout stop police once and have it make an effect. She shot a smile to the older lady and nodded to her when she mouthed "thank you" at her apparently the man had made the old woman uncomfortable with his presence. She sighed and hoped like hell that suit, was thinking of something as well because he seemed to know something she didn't. Nudging again'Sir I really am going to have to ask you to fallow my advice I dont want to get the conductor involved..or maybe just move to another car your making that nice lady nervous."

As the young officer no scratch that as the young detective stood and moved towards the homeless man Samuel smiled wickedly in appreciation as he hadn’t pointed out the not really homeless man. Samuel had been thinking on a sufficiently painful way of dissuading him against his vocation. Instead he focused on the bikeless messenger. Standing his eyes focusing on the train map above the mans head. Matching his pace with hers Samuel moved to the non-biker. His paper held seemingly loosely Samuel rolled it into a nice tight tube. He would have to obtain another on the way home. Rocking with the train Samuel dropped his pen. As the bike messenger was focused on assisting his made compatriot Samuel moved to pick up the pen. He wished the detective hadn’t been present but he would make do. He’d find another time to extract what he needed from the would be jackers.
Grunting as he went to fetch his pen Samuel sped up his actions driving his head into the man’s abdomen just where the floating ribs began. The wet low snap allowed Samuel to know he’d struck his mark. It wasn’t life threatening but was painful enough where most people could only concentrate on breathing. Snatching his pen up and moving in a quick blur Samuel had against the man’s carotid before he’d had a chance to do more than grunt himself. Good for him Samuel thought the man was in fact professional enough to attempt to stick to whatever plan they’d had afoot. Whispering into the mans ear as he held him upright allowing gravity to do the work of applying pressure to his broken rib. “If you do more than blink one for yes and two for no and do exactly as I say I will drive this into your carotid with enough force to lodge it into the bones of your vertebra. Do you understand?”
Blink
“Good give me your bag and sit behind those girls when I release you.”
Blink
Taking the messenger bag Samuel slipped it on his left shoulder. Smiling as he felt the weight of the bag. It was lighter than it looked but he could tell what model of firearm was hidden within. He’d kept one ear on the Detectives actions and he heard her strike the man again. That would be all took that and seeing his partner quietly sit would be enough that he’d start looking for an exit strategy if one hadn’t been put in place already.
Samuel hoped she could handle herself. Unzipping his pants he didn’t bother to really expose himself he did however wait until they were pulling into the station then mimed flashing the girls so they would get off the train. True to his expectations they screamed at the idea of some strange man flashing them and took off running. They didn’t know he was their employer of sorts so he was in the clear as far as that angle. However being so far from the detective left homeless man time to attempt to act. He leaped up as the doors were beginning to close…

Things seemed to be happening in short order she felt the man move past her but didn't watch him she was watching the Homeless non homeless man. When she pressed and not seeing what decided him he feigned anger stumbled grandly to his feet as if he'd had a few. That let her see more then he had meant to show and a small caliber, pistol under his tattered trench. He was good but not that good, Monica kept a close eye on her only taking the gaze off her as the girls shrieked behind her and she watched them race out at the stop. Not sure what that was about but she saw the man in front of her go from stumbling and drunken to fast and determined. She knew he was armed and that was probable cause enough for her, especially since he seemed to be chasing the girls.
Choice made, he wouldn't be allowed off the train and moving decisively dropping to sweep his legs from under him and as she came up to standing her gun in her hand leveling it chest high. He looked surprised but even more so when she said "police stay where you are"
He stammered but she cut him off, " Why were you fallowing them? Why do you have a gun while dressed as a homeless man?'
The doors to the train had already closed and the ladies had escaped the train was already moving. She peeked over one shoulder to see where suit n tie was as she didn't know his name yet. Then back to the man on the ground waiting for him to say anything. The older lady had seen all this already and was easing toward the end of the car well out of harms way or so she thought. Some boy better tell her something she couldn't hold the gun on him all night and would probably need to call for back up at some point.
Gritting her teeth and giving her best cop look, he looked around then looked for his partner who for some reason wasn't helping him at all.

Samuel zipped his pants as he moved towards the main accomplice. He was smarting but he was gathering himself. Samuel knew the tell-tale signs and as such he decided to act accordingly. Moving as if he was on his way to assist the cop feigning obliviousness. With one well timed roundhouse Samuel connected with the man’s chin sending him into the oblivion of sleep. Even restraining the vast bulk of his strength the blow was sufficient to cause a lasting ring in the man’s ear once he awoke. Sparing nary a step Samuel moved until he was bringing up the detectives rear. As the homeless man was down yet nowhere near out Samuel knew it was time to extricate himself from the situation. She couldn’t use excessive force but he could. It would incapacitate the man so that she could train her sights on the men approaching from the next car.
Crouching low behind a seat just above the unconscious would be jacker Samuel opened the messenger bag taking a look at the Skorpion sitting inside. He didn’t want to risk the detectives good graces by firing on a train just yet. He however still checked to insure it was loaded safety off ready to fire. She knew it wasn’t his and if she was a stickler she could at most attempt to arrest him for assault and battery. "He won’t talk but perhaps his friends might."
Coming as close as he ever dared to making a joke Samuel intoned, "You may want to take cover; They look as if they mean to debate the legality of your capture vociferously.” As she spoke Samuel tapped his touch screen dialing the prearranged number to have Abel rally with the necessary force of arms to hopefully avert major loss of life. With any luck Samuel might yet be able to attain the information he needed from the errand boys closing on their location.

" What?"
Monica looked over her shoulder and saw true enough that there were more coming towards the car and could only move as fast as the sway of the train allowed. The problem was that they were almost at the tunnel and once it got dark it could get bad and fast. stifling her urge to curse she whipped off some cuffs and cuffed the homeless guy to the pole nearest them still prone by putting her knee on his back and gun to his head. She looked behind her again at her unexpected ally of the moment and noticed that there was an unconscious man..her brow rose but no time for questions they had bigger problems.
She duck walked fast behind a set of seats so she could still see but had a good bit of plastic and space between her and the door, only good thing is that they couldn't come through more then two at a time and that would help them be able to drive them back or pick them off. She spoke clearly enough to be heard but not enough to give away position to the men coming in. " So do you know who these guys are or do you always get into dangerous situations on the commute home that require you to knock people out and take their... wait that's a big freaking gun he was carrying that?"
Cell phone in her pocket was fished out and firing off a text to her friend on the transit squad, they would have a few uni's and some black and whites at the stop after the tunnel to meet them for better or worse. She was hoping like hell for better because this, wasn't shaping up to great. Holding her breath for a moment when she heard the sliding car door bang open just as the first bit of darkness raced over the train swallowing the car they had just left and bringing it with them like a bad omen.

“I have a clue but no confirmation as to their general identities.” Samuel said just loud enough to be heard. His tone implying nothing more than truth. He counted four men all armed and moving with an obviousness as to their purpose. They were the cleanup crew. They were past the point of no return the darkness absorbed them all too quickly. The older woman was the only relative innocent in sight and Samuel knew what that would mean. Three accidental deaths cum suicides New Yorkers would be waiting pissed for the tracks to be cleared accepting it begrudgingly as life in the rotten apple.
If they were as careful as they seemed Samuel knew they could of course leave the bodies on the train in definitely. There was a man who died and rode the train for over six hours as New Yorkers hustled ad bustled around him. It was an unnerving bit of trivial knowledge that Samuel knew. Not sparing a glance over his shoulder at the detective. He spoke clearly and distinctly. “I am sure they are prepared for darkness. Get her to the lead car and see if you can get the conductor to stop the train. To give your back up time to get here or the next station in time.”
Seeing the cadre of hired guns at the door Samuel spared a look gauging the detective. “Unless you have a better idea?” Samuel was willing to let her call the shots as the men paused considering their options. Three minutes of darkness before they reached the station. It could be all the time they had left in life if the closing attackers had a say in the matter. Samuel however would not allow his life to pass quietly. Unbagging the submachine gun he slung it over his shoulder. He’d fired enough of the easy to obtain Eastern Bloc firearms to instinctively account for the slight kick Samuel sighted down the simple targeting sight locked and loaded preparing to fire through the door.
He knew that even if she was a stickler for the law his corps of attorney’s would be able to have him out of custody before he was even arraigned.

This was a no win situation because as an officer of the law she couldn't leave one civilian behind trying to get another out even if that civilian seemed like he could take care of him self. She moved as fast as she could yanking the old woman down and shushing her in the dark trying to get her to understand not to move. In her head she had one word repeating over and over it started with F and rhymed with luck, which they had run out of. She remembered where she left the one guy and grabbed his gun for an extra. Crawling carefully along the floor low as she could be she got close enough to whisper " I'll take the heat on this if I have to, just dont kill them out right if we can avoid it they need to go to jail but we need them unable to kill us so ...as much as Im going to regret this we have to do what we have to do its them or us and I want to go home tonight."
The first guy came through and he looked like he had night vision goggles on from the place she was crouched, She held her breath for the moment. The guy she had cuffed realizing he might have help started calling to his buddies. " There's a cop shes got my gun man I'm cuffed help dont leave me here to .."
The shot was deafening, Monica realized these guys were serious and if you messed up you died, her prisoner had messed up bad and paid the price. Fortunately with him firing it gave her a chance to and she got the first of the four through the torso but not through the heart close range. Not sticking around in that spot as he fell because the guy behind him would have seen him fall and could probably guess general direction. Using the seats as cover again as she went across that disgusting train floor. Her shirt would never come clean but she rather be out a shirt then a life. As she thought the bullet that cracked into the plastic two beats back behind her, made her wince and swallow hard. There went that word again, but hopefully if she was drawing the fire dude would be able to get the jump on them.

“I’ll try." Was Samuels only response. He’d wait to see if she was shooter before making any promises. She was though she was a cop shooter. She was a sheep dog not a wolf. That had its place. In the here and now with Abel at least ten minutes out and her backup god knew where it didn’t. As she fired and changed positions he waited. A heartbeat longer than most would with shells flying about him. Waited so that they would check their fire. They were professional enough to have come equipped which meant they had a timetable for how long the train would be in the dark. They had a clock to work against. He checked his line of fire once more lowering his target point in the doing. Inhaling he exhaled as he squeezed the trigger slow and easy as if he did such things for a living.
Samuel watched as the target the detective had painted began trying to roll for cover. He had never appreciated the compact nature of New York’s train compartments more. That was one target who wouldn’t be returning fire. The second through the door who’d tried sending the detective through St. Peter’s gates fell his screams of pain a beacon. Samuel forced himself to not finish the job the shin shots had started. He had said he would try and so long as the pain kept the assailant too preoccupied to return fire Samuel would allow him to continue sucking air. He himself was too broad to easily roll and maneuver between the seats. As such he decided against it they weren’t packing silver he would deal. All the same he dropped to the floor completely prone with the Skorpions clip half expended before him like a lance.
He didn’t have the use of light amplification goggles but with his lycanthropy he could manage well enough. Three and four were smart enough to attempt to taking the door in full storm Three held the door open firing high as four rushed in low attempting to lay his own suppression so as to clear a way for three. Would have been a good plan but neither had witnessed where exactly the detective was nor had they taken into consideration that Samuel had dropped completely flush with the floor and had a nearly clear firing arc.

Monica heard one drop then another yell in pain after he fired at her, nodding to her self. Two down two more to go. taking note as to how long they had been in the tunnel and figuring they had roughly a minute and a half before the first car reached the station and the train would start slowing. Hoping like hell her back up had gotten there, but worried if these guys weren't dropped by then they would return fire on any one in the way. Plus she had only said two guys in her text with out having time to update any one and having dropped her cell when she was getting out of the line of fire. She wanted to scream, in anger at just how crap this particular ride home had turned out because now if she didn't die shed be tits deep in paperwork.
Then the fact she still didn't know suit n tie as she was referring to him in her head's name, but who had time for manners and niceties when gun play was involved? No night vision, no problem she had refocused her attention when the second set of shooters had paused to regroup before busting in. Using the fact that even though one was spraying low he was still to high for someone flat to the floor and that he was moving faster then any one she shouldn't aim at should be gave her a target. Two shots aimed as precise as she could right as he came almost even with her hiding place, so she could see the general outline of him with the tunnel lights. Wrist shot went a little off and caught his elbow but the shin shot she took aiming under the seat was spot on, his finger caught the trigger as he was dropping the gun and a stray got so close she felt the burn along her side.
Wincing and knowing that first guy they killed was going to look like Swiss cheese when this was over but none of the bullets were from her or suit so at least that would help their cause out. The last guy was her partner in shoot outs problem she had to make sure the only innocent on the train was still breathing. Trying to stay as low as she could skin stinging and praying for the station soon while she waited to hear all clear from the other direction or anything. When you are getting shot at time slows down and what was really only three minutes can feel like hours in the mind. Her hand brushed something soft and warm, it grabbed her back and only memory and restraint kept her from shooting the woman she had been trying to keep safe. The laughter that threatened to start was terrible.
Under the first set of seats closer to him, a short melody started. The short snippet of Fur Elise was her message tone and it was telling her she had some one sending her a text. Back up maybe?

“I’m out toss me the other clip…”Samuel called loud enough to be heard over the din of bullets tearing through the pressed metal of the train car. He wasn’t in fact he still had half a clip but his ploy was designed to let the third and last standing attacker know where he was. The detective had chosen and dropped her target. Three down one permanently and the last was rethinking his strategy. Samuel knowingly gave away his position so as to load the trap. Professional or no he’d spotted their penchant for carnage and was more than willing to use it against the last man.
He and Abel had already mapped away to question the assailants should any of them need medical attention. Slipping of his jacket he threw it across the aisle as if it were him moving low towards a reload. As expected the last gunman took aim firing what would have been mortal wounds as he closed to finish off the detective. Waiting until the man was too close to retreat Samuel sparng up driving his barrel skyward while driving his own barrel into the mans midsection where the flak jacket and ballsitic shell couldn’t protect his soft flesh. Samuel checked the bulk of his strength so as to not actuallty stab the man with the barrel. That would have required far too much explaining. As the man fought for air Samuel drove him backwards into the floor of the train car and used the muzzle flare from the submachine gun in his control to blind the man by firing from lees than two inches in front of the mans face.
His gun while aimed at the sidewall of the train car caused no penetrative damage to the gunman it was pretty hard to fight blind. At least with any hopes of winning. Snatching the gun from him was child’s play at that point. Tearing the strap as he wrenched it out of the man’s grip Samuel was sure that the man had broken a finger as well as a few ribs in the scrum. Rising off the man Samuel spared a sharp snap kick to the man’s baby makers. It might have been a bit much as he screamed like a castrati. Six down five to be officially captured the detective would surely have a commendation for valorous actions. Samuel would have his information and the city could keep right on trucking. Sighing as the train began decelerating into the station Samuel called out, “All down one DOA the others in need of medical attention. And this is my stop.” Walking to where the detective and the loan innocent were crouched Samuel handed both submachine guns towards the detective pistol grips first. “If you don’t need me I will be going before things get messy.”

She stood taking the guns and looked at him for a moment, she really should at least attempt to arrest him but he had saved her butt in more then one way. Jaw going tight she took a breath in " If I promise not to tell them the name, will you at least tell me it so I can know who to send a fruit basket or something to as a thanks..despite the huge amount of paperwork I'm going to have to do on this I cant keep calling you suit n tie."
Biting her bottom lip he didn't have long to leave this car and pretend he was else where but she really hoped he'd at least, give her that much credit. It was that or maybe dust the guns for prints as they were going to any how. Who knows what names would come up when that happened, because the one she cuffed hadn't been wearing gloves and as far as she knew neither had the others. Honey browns searching him deeply and then she did something not even she expected her self to do getting close enough so only he would hear she whispered " I know your something other then human I just dont know what flavor you are besides alive so not a vampire."
It was not said as a threat just a fact, and she was trying to get him to understand she knew how much restraint he had shown or at least could guess. He should be able to taste the honesty and determination behind her words, she was putting her rear on the line letting him waltz out and having to think of what to tell her back up. She could hear the brakes give a final pump pulling them to a crawl and this was not the normal because they must've been waiting to see which car the shoot out had actually happened in car by car check. so he could still tell her his name and leave.

He played the whole scene out in his head walking to several inevitable conclusions. His eyes searching hers as if he were searching for flaws in a fine gem. Taking a step closer as she had done saving a hairs space between them. She was tall for a woman, strong, and seemingly honorable. Knowing that this would not be the end of this especially as she had a feel for the preternatural. He spared a knowing smile. If she was as diligent as she was calm under fire she would find the few inconsequential clues left lying about. The disabled cameras along the line, the waiting cars, the paid off police officers, the disabled lights at various places where the cameras couldn’t be breached. All small things individually, taken together after such a run-in would certainly paint a picture he’d be hard pressed to dissuade her from. “My name is Samuel. I am in imports exports."
Winking he dropped into a crouch just as the breaks issued there last squeal. Crab walking to the womn he pulled off his ever present gloves shoving them in his pockets and began shivering in shock to match the old woman. As the doors opened and the car began to swarm with with uniformed officers Samuel made himself as small and unassuming as he could be. Whispering to the detective “I think we need medical attention. Thank god you were here. If it weren’t for you we wouldn’t see tomorrow.” His voice ringing with gratitude most genuine. “Thank you, thank you detective.” He hadn’t forgot about his jacket but in light of the crowd of police he knew it would be a mistake to attempt to retrieve it. It would be another loose end for he and Abel to tie up. “For everything.”
He held himself from showing any sign of recognition as he spotted a few faces he recognized form the payroll. Instead he turned his head into the woman. “We will be alright. Everything is going to be fine. These officers will get us looked at and home.”

He actually told her and she couldn't help the smile, he said it and she thought of the actor both gave off a don't F with me vibe. Nodding as she accepted that then the unadulterated look of surprise at his cunning. She wanted to laugh but then the back up stormed in and she had to look concerned and shaken up. Turning to her colleges and handing over the gun and the keys to her cuffs so they could get the one DOA off the pole. She would not blow his cover besides it was easier for her this way she could say that he had found the gun and given it to her then went to hide and had gotten scared once the shooting started.
The old woman wouldn't remember much past hitting the tunnel and the shooters had never actually seen where she was so she could make them all think she had just gotten so very lucky with her shots taking them all out like they were. She made sure he and the woman were escorted off the car first for medical attention. She had come to find out the old woman was named Nora jean, because they found her ID in her purse while checking for medications to make sure they didn't give her anything she couldn't have.
So many questions were flying at her and she tried hard not to just shut down. Some how press had gotten in and were snapping pictures and she sighed heavily. As each man was taken off the train most on stretchers not under their own power they looked at her and some showed anger that a cop and a female one at that had taken them down, the others just seemed confused. Then remembering seeing him take off his jacket she ran back on the train to get it not thinking anything out of the ordinary. Putting it over him as they wheeled him out still with the barrage of questions. She connected with his gaze once more before he was out of sight as if to say " see ya round Samuel".
Then the captain in charge of the scene took her for debriefing in earnest and she knew her night was going to get long and she might not see home at all for the next twenty four hours. Taking a deep breath as her friend TJ who was her transit connect handed her the cell phone she had dropped. The screen was cracked and the case was missing stones but it was still under warranty so she could get it replaced. Monica didn't want to be famous and some how she knew this was going to make her life extremely dangerous in the near future.
