She slid the key away in a pocket nodding at the transportation directive. They had time for hitting three points based on the train schedule app she'd down loaded the last was less than 20 min fro. The airport which they would need to get there just on time baring a shoot out or delay.
Down the lift to the Streetable leaving the rental. As they walked to the first station she caugot sight of a softee pretzel dog cart. Two of her things to try in onew. Stopping for the briefest moment paying for one with mustard and grinning. Making up time she took a bite" oh my gawd it's soooo good"
The salty mixed beef in a doughy warm even saltier crust had her eyes entranced mouth full she groaned " wanna bite?"

They sauntered out and she like him hid the key away it wouldn’t be flashed by accident and unless she was searched it would never come up. He caught sight of her having mapped out a route to the nearest station and routes he smiled as he had only begun keeping apps and the like in his phone. He was still old school enough that he called before texting as matter of habit. The pretzel stop made him chuckle. He knew an old lion that was ex-military that lived by the code of eat and sleep when you can you never knew when you wouldn’t be able to do either.
As she paused and got her bite he scanned the street nothing stood out except the many cameras. That could work in their benefit. He also kiced himself he forgot to do one important thing. She’d paid cash which was great but the other thing he’d meant to insure she had was a slush account for this trip she was on the Abstrahimus’s dime. So as she offered him a bite he said ”Huh, No thank you.” The street was too crowded just yet but as they headed onto the stairs he slowed her some letting those behind them push past. Once he was sur ethye were alone he slid a folder out of his jacket handing it to her. It was several grand on unmarked fairly untraceable debit gift cards. They wouldn’t stick out as much as cash and they’d all trace back to several different locations around the country all purchased in cash at differing points through out the year. It was a fool proof system as the cards were never from the same batch never the same amounts and never sent to their city of origination. It was a way to keep the Abstrahimus off the radar of local authorities. He knew he would n’t have to explain thath those were for her instead he took her hand and led her downstairs.
It would look far less suspicious if it appeared that they were just together instead of the fact that they were really here to screw someones worked over and gain a foothold within the city. He released her hand as his phone vibrated. He answered without looking. “Yes.” Turns out the situation in Rockford had escalated sooner than expected and they needed help. He chuckled and told him to get low hide out somewhere safe and he would return their call in due time. “Seems your plan is working faster than we thought.”

She shrugged polishing off the treat then he handed her the folder and she smiled.mamma was getting new shoes. Well not really but there were Neiman marcus Starbucks prepaid visas all welcome and amazing. When she felt his hand slip into hers it made her want to giggle but in her head the small voice said.it's just for show and that dampened the jubilation a bit.
She blinked then laughed when he took the call. " Well well well chickens roost huh?"
Winking as they began walking again

" Indeed," He responded as he watched a pickpocket work the train car as the girl came closer using the press of bodies as cover he placed a hand on her shoulder as she tried a lift. He let a small growl issue as he leaned in. “Find a new job.” Using his other hand he slipped a card from his pocket into hers.
He doubted that she would as she took off away from him faster than one would have thought in the crowd. “We will have to make sure we watch them as well.” He said eyeing the train around them. Them meaning noninfected not just lycanthropes. He was her less time than he would have thought before growing tired of it all already. He threw his arm around Mel for touch and the feel of home heedless of the looks they got from the lady sitting behind Mel. He glanced back hmmphed and enjoyed the ride as best as he could.

He had been nice about it mel would have broken the wrist and made her known. She sighed but the hug was good it calmed them both because this was to many people. She heard the Harum phone and laughed tempted to grind a bit really give the woman a hard time.
Their stop was two away any how so it didn't matter.when it called for their stop next she went to the door with him and waved to the lady with a kiss blown. Once she stepped off tho she was on alert and bout business there could be a set up since their boys in the car from earlier had now had plenty of time to put the word out.

He smiled at the woman as they get off and winked just as he stepped off. He relinquished Melissa only begrudgingly. It was a comfort these few moments of being almost as lazy and laconic as at home. He knew these would be the last few moments of such they were getting close to the mission start site and soon knowing his brother many people would be dying or left bleeding. He paused reading the graffiti and etchings on the walls of the station. It was getting harder and harder to leave these messages as New York led the country in graffiti removal. Sometimes they had to get creative. Etchings in the underside of places. Luckily this station had lots of traffic and judging by the locations of many pieces the cameras were unmanned, unoperational, or the police here had not caught on how to read the markings.
“Hey Melissa…Just curious how negligent I’ve been. Can you read that,” he nodded at the large yellow and blue piece of art on the wall near the stairs. The yellow signified feline the shade usually meant leopard though if it was faded it might once have meant lion. The blue was in regards to canine’s wolves specifically. A much lighter shade was for police. As it stood the piece marked the edge of a group called the Moons Blood or lunar blood’s territory. They were according to the piece joined in watching the land by the Shadows of the Past. It was a guide post but such larger pieces usually were but the etchings painted a story of combat and territory challenged. The fact that the piece still stood meant that those who opposed were destroyed absorbed or no longer able to challenge.
As they stood looking all the world like gentrified urbanites taking in street art he was scanning for Lycanthropes there were a few Rodere some feline and one or two exotic but as they were moving away or frozen in their steps it didn’t register as anything worth pursuing just yet. He was stalling yes but the last time he and Mel were together he had done everything he could to force him into a corner and do something stupid so he could run him out of the city they were in.

She thought" not much on graffiti I know artists have tags and distinctive pattern but this is two different artist blending for some reason yellow before the blue or where they over lapped it would have bled green."
She shrugged then looked at him" as much as we don't want to do this we have to or we will be late to the rest and you won't get the surprise face you wanted"
She knew this was the quiet before the storm.

He all but snorted he was far too clear and direct with those inside his circle of trust." Yeah I have been negligent." Sadly he knew he would have to educate her sadly there was not enough time this trip. He would have to let Melissa and the others in on the secret language of cities the artist that hid the messages in plain sight. Most hadn’t spent as much time on the road as him he did a quick count ten years of survival against the escalating odds. He was lucky blessed or cursed he wasn’t sure and shook himself fee of the past before it held onto him.
Looking at the escalator and stairs that would lead him to his brother " You’re right. Plus…” He looked at his watch. ”Tammy will be off the plane in six minutes and our hacker will be here already. “Let’s go raise hell for the betterment of New York.”

She smiled and nodded stepped to the escalator knowingredients as she went up better or worse life was going to be different in some way after.
Shades back in place cop mel back in place she stepped off so scanning and checked her sheilds.

They made it to the airport ahead of his brother which and his people as planned. They had time to make it to the gate and their hacker Emily was waiting with bags tickets and even the right amount of smarm. She’d only been infected four ears and normally wouldn’t have been on Hiero’s radar but she was highly recommended. Both her Rex and most of the others in the area around her spoke with nothing but glowing praise.
Tammy however was another story entirely. No one who crossed her even so much as simply cutting her off in traffic. She was a bruiser a real she-devil. Her Nordic roots showed not only in the war braid she wore but her height clearly defined muscles and the scar which only they would know as claw marks. She wore biker leathers and had even the walk down to disguise it as bad crash. Even scarred as she was Hiero was jealous of her. She lived most of her time as lion and there was no outward sign on her.
She was also the only other lion aside from Samuel who’d survived the destruction of Samuels Scottish Pride. She and he were the only remnants of that once vaunted Pride. They’d roamed and ranged the Scottish Highlands down through the countryside and beyond. They were also as criminal as any mob and the take over form within was just as bloody and violent. Especially as she for the first few skirmishes was on the otherside of the battle from Samuel.
She switched sides after Samuel not only bested her but left a lasting reminder. The scar she wore form challenging him to single combat. She strangely enough didn’t begrudge him. She thanked him and Hiero knew having her near at hand would keep Samuel off kilter.
Introducing everyone he tightened his aura even more.

Mel nodded to the hacker but the large Nordic one looking very much as she imagined a valkrye would look like had her bout skid to a stop next to Ro. She wouldn't be scared but even a stronger lion she felt might second guess there life confronted by her mass and aura.
She inched just a hair closer to her Rex for his strength and calm.feeling it infuse her she felt on a more even keel now.

Samuel met Abel at the airport he just like during their stay would make himself invisible as much as possible. He didn’t keep anything form Abel he did however keep Abel from people. Once they’d traded information Abel fell into the background disappearing into the crowd. While Samuel would be busy with these lions of his brothers Abel unless he needed Samuels direct attention would be applying pressure to Aero from the Exauda side of things.
Checking the parcels he moved into the airport. It was no small bit of planning on Mouse’s side of things that all of the planes came through the same terminal and gate. It was nice to know that Mouse was growing up in certain things. Planning being key to make the world go round. He stopped mid thought as he felt the prickling recognition. Even shielded he knew that scent that feel of energy. He forced himself to sit before approaching where they waited. He knew Tamrine’s presence anywhere and there she was exuding the ferocity that made her the most sought after lioness in most of Europe.
She could have been queen of nearly any Pride before he’d ruined her. He’d had no viable options left him and so they did combat she lost and even with his healing she was left with a reminder. An ever present reminder from that moment forward she was the fierce beast she’d become. She was one of many mistakes he’d survived making. Calming his mind. Emptying it actually he reconstructed his mask slowly as he shielded himself from his past and focused on the road ahead.
Standing he moved to the group stopping in his tracks as he stood looking at four of the six lions Mouse had promised him and two of them being wholly unacceptable. Mouse and Tamrine. He held his blank face in place and soldered up his shields tighter than he ever did. Looking from one to the other. He cleared his throat preparing to introduce himself.
Mouse leaped figuratively and hugged him to soften the double blows of he and Tamrine here in Samuels city. The warmth of him and how tightly he was shielding let him know that Mouse was doing damage control. Which meant he knew. He knew who Tamrine was and what Samuel had done. He was fairly confident in assuming he even knew why. Samuel crooked a smile playing along. As Mouse whispered almost too low for even him to hear. “I told you I would send you my best and then some, Mel.” Pulling away Mouse introduced everyone starting with himself, ‘Chicago, Memphis, Tulsa, and Seattle. The Burlingtons will be here in the city about seven tonight we’ll guide them to the safehouse then. They’re bringing party favors and such.’
Allowing him his moment Samuel waited nodding to each by way of greeting. Stepping out of his grasp Smauel offered each a package. “These are for you. Clean burners for contact as well as…” Handing Mouse his package last. “Monies so that your activities are untraceable should the need arise. I have vehicles waiting at the safehouse for you all right this way.” With that he turned on his heel to lead them out to the van which would take them to their temporary home.
The seating in the van meant he and Memphis would be riding next to each other.

When her rex introduced her as Memphis she wanted to ask him what? But instead nodded and rolled with it. Memphis was close to mel enough so it would be like being undercover. She liked the idea of that but knew she needed to be cautious he felt like he could get her to rat her self out sans trying hard.
She peeked at him through her shades he felt like her Rex but diffrent she shivered like a finger went down her spine. This weekend was going to be madness she took the proffered package and fallowed to car.
She watched while every one settle and slid in only to find the over whelming warm and pover that was Samuel pressed against her. Swallowed softly and took off her glasses fingers folded in her lap.

Tamerine quietly went along with the gathering. She was here as a favor to the only other lion like Samuel. It wasn’t until they’d spoken several times that she was able to place the familial relation. Itw a not in the similarities of skin tone or build. In fact they could not be farther dissimilar physically. What joined them was a certain strength that was unwilling to yield. Even when outnumbered and surrounded Hieronymus would not yield. He drew on reserves that shouldn’t have been possible. She watched as he stood and fought long after there was a need to. He fought and continued fighting. She would have been impressed had she not been witness to Samuel years earlier. If she had not been victim to Samuel years earlier.
She’d initially come to America seeking him out. She instead had found several coalitions and in the end after all was settled a Pride where she belonged. She had all but forgotten the young hot-head and the older statesman lion. Until the call she had settled into a comfort a home. She was here partially to see was her memory deluding her. She was here to see if Samuel was the lion she remembered. She knew form the call out of the blue from Hieronymous that he was. So she’d begged leave of Savannah and here she was. In the flesh.
She knew Samuel was not as calm as he had once seemed and yet there was still a strength to him. She wondered why he had not taken over the Pride here or somewhere else. As they got into the car she leaned from her seat behind Samuel and the older of the two young lionesses. Inhaling deeply she rested on her elbows between them. She swallowed as she marked their scents. They both had the scent of gun oil about hem but Samuel also had sniff, spittle and sniff fried food. It was not like he Samuel she remembered but things changed she certainly had. She no longer saw her beast as separate she was her beast and her beast was her. In short she was the beast and the woman. She’d never forget that and it was all because of this man Samuel.
“Hello Memphis.” She began looking at Samuel as she spoke to Memphis. Moving her gaze to Memphis directly. She inhaled deeply. “You have flawless skin. What products do you use?” It was such an innocuous question so out of line with her appearance that she knew it would catch them all off guard.

She wanted to crawl out of her skin they were both uncomfortable to be around but her commitment to not embarrass or disappoint her rex urged her to wreckless calm. Speaking conversationally" thank you um actually not to much miceller soap to get all the dirt and make up when I'm wearing it coconut oil moisturizer and lots of water"
She felt her cell go off for an alert she'd set up earlier if Petrov was spotted any where else in the city they might be or had been. " excuse me need to check that"
Then with a deft quick finger swipe she sent the alert to Chicago and closed her screen. Looking to the female" where do you buy your leathers ?they are pretty nice most are to stiff for good movement"
